You shy away from the “bad” things in life as if the bad things are going to break you. Maybe you should let them. Maybe you need a wake up call. Maybe you need to change and this is the only way.
The pain the heartbreak the betrayal the loss. We’re scared of getting hurt we’re scared of acting the fool we’re scared of failing we’re scared of losing people we’re scared in general.
But here’s the thing about the “bad” things - they end up becoming the best things, if you let them. You become better because of it, if you choose to. You’ve got to hurt a little. Feel the pain. Let it break you. Let it change you.
Remember you’re not alone in your hurt in your suffering in your humanness.
You’re not alone.
But at a certain point you’ve got to choose. Do you want to be a victim of your life or an active participant in it? Every day you choose. And you can be magic, if you want to be. Use the bad and turn it to good. That is the fight.
Nearly three years ago, I said on a podcast that I thought business plans were counterproductive.
But I think what I was on to is actually bigger than that.
We have all been taught some version of this path:
Get good grades.
Go to college.
Get a good job.
Climb the ladder.
Make money.
Retire.
But I think you can feel that this is breaking apart in real time now.
But what's the alternative? Just find the "right" path that still works, and follow that?
Things are moving too fast to think like that anymore.
Five years ago, software devs were some of the highest paid talent on the market. Today, entry-level jobs in software have all but vanished.
Planning 5-20 years out is not going to work the same way it did for our parents. Whether you're planning for a career or a business.
That sounds scary. But it's actually good news (I promise). You don't need the whole road mapped out anymore.
Here's what I'm doing now:
Getting clear about where I want to be. Not a dollar amount, but more of a state of mind. I don't attach a timeline to it. I consider:
The feelings I'll have while I'm going about a typical day.
How I'll react to events in my life.
Who I'm surrounded by.
The activities I'll do.
Then instead of planning a whole road to that end state, I'm simply keeping that in mind now, when I'm:
1. making decisions.
2. reacting to events.
3. choosing paths that are presented to me.
Without a plan, but with a clear vision for where I want to end up, I trust my intuition's response to life. It acts like a compass. I can adjust my path on the fly as I move toward my end goal.
Because no plan will survive contact with reality for long nowadays.
What are you doing to adapt?
Is our lived, experienced consciousness just a cross-section of our full being, a 3rd dimensional representation of something far larger and more complex?

WELCOME TO NINEFOLD.
Culture moves markets. But it starts with people.
What they care about. What they trust. What they want to be part of.
In a world where almost anything can be generated, taste and judgment matter more:
what deserves to exist and how it earns a place in people’s lives.

"the guy who strikes out is still closer to hitting a home run than the heckler in the bleachers"
35 years into this game
when I look back, most of my work and decisions went nowhere
I owe my dream life to a handful of asymmetric bets:
- asking out the French exchange student in high school
- learning to code in 2009
- dropping out of uni to pursue my startup
- going all-in Bitcoin in March 2020
those four decisions shaped most of my life
I missed so many opportunities.
some that were served up on a silver platter.
but that's the beautiful thing about asymmetric bets - you only need one to completely change your trajectory
so how often are you actually looking for them?
not the default path.
not the safest options.
the ones with limited downside and massive upside
they're often hiding behind exaggerated downside
you think they're riskier than they are
you fear the judgement of pursuing them, or failing to succeed
nobody actually cares though
its your life. take swings.
the guy who strikes out is still closer to hitting a home run than the heckler in the bleachers
time speeds up after 35 years
it's made me more ruthless about where I allocate my time and capital.
forced me into a barbell strategy for life
I'm either squeezing the most I can out of this pre-ASI moment - real world maxxing somewhere beautiful with lovely people- or I'm allocating time/capital to the most asymmetric bets I can find.
zero mediocre middle
Hustle culture is keeping you poor.
Hard work is not what pays anymore. And it never was.
I spent about 20 years reading self-help books and doing all kinds of programs.
What I learned recently - through experience - threw most of it out the window.
Hustle culture tells you to sit at your computer and produce more.
More content.
More sales calls.
More products.
Just do more.
I want you to lift your head up for a minute.
AI can now take your knowledge and act on it faster than you or I ever could. Most of what gives high value to the knowledge work you get paid for is being swallowed by LLMs, and there is no stopping this or regulating it away (and it's GREAT for you, I promise).
The scarce skill now is making clear, effective decisions at a rapid pace.
CEOs already know this. They aren't paid for hours, they're paid for great decision-making ability.
Great decisions require high energy and clarity. If you're burnt out, low energy, or internally conflicted you will struggle to make decisions at all, let alone make them well and quickly.
So hustle culture isn't rescuing you from the permanent underclass. It's your ticket to it, because it's robbing you of exactly what you need to win in this new era: your energy and clarity.
When you grow your energy and save it for the decisions that matter, you decide better and faster. Your progress compounds.
This has happened in my own life, faster than I thought possible.
So I stopped measuring my productivity in hours. Instead I focus only on protecting my energy so I make better decisions.
For me that means spending hours every morning waking up, hitting the gym and sitting in the sauna. It means going on random errands that I could pay some delivery driver to do for me, just because I love driving my car.
My productivity and the results in my life have gone exponential since I've started making this shift.
So what is it for you that increases your energy and grows your capacity and clarity?
Start doing more of that.
I want you to love your life so you can build cool things that humanity can enjoy with you. Go and get it!

I’ll say this:
I’ve put myself out there more than most
& thus subjected myself to more judgement, criticism, “cringe” than most
Two things you need to understand:
1) anyone who’s gonna judge you, fuck em. You don’t want judgmental people in your life. Jealously is an ugly trait.
2) what matters is the people who love you for you. I read a great quote that said: “share your world so those who want to be a part of it, can be”
And that’s what matters. All the beautiful & amazing people you meet along the way. The friendships, business relationships, fun you all have together
It puts life on easy mode. Nothing has changed my life more than the people I’ve met in my journey
Just have to have thick skin to start.

"How are you always so positive & happy"
Let me explain:
Life has risks. Accept them.
You could get hit by a bus tomorrow.
Life may not end up the way you want it to - you may never find love nor make it big.
These are all very real possibilities.
They could happen !
But they probably won't so just assign a 0.00001% probability to them...and never think of them again
So why would you ever think about them?
All thinking about them does is increase their odds of happening.
The strong possibility is that life goes far better than you can ever imagine.
Your thoughts create your reality, so ensure 99.9999999% of your thoughts are in that bliss-like stake and thus, you should be happy 99.9999999% of the time
What if we don’t simply move through time and physical space the way our current scientific model suggests?
What if there are endless possible realities, with endless versions of us within each, and the reality we experience is simply chosen by us through our emotions and intentions?
Those emotions and intentions operate below our conscious awareness. We can’t simply decide to change them through our will or willpower.
But we may be able to train them.
Like building a strong body, changing these deeper patterns takes practice and repetition. They are shaped over time by our identity, our thoughts, our actions, and the meaning we give to what happens to us.
If those deeper patterns help determine which reality we experience, how would that change the way you live your life?
It's taking me years to figure it out, but this is what I mean when I say "everything is mental"
What does it mean to "feel energized?"
My car makes me feel energized, but not in the sense of the energy that coffee or nicotine gives us. We don't have a good word for this type of energy in English, so let me explain.
The energy I'm speaking about is not the kind that jolts you awake or papers over tiredness for an hour.
The energy I mean is what you feel after a good vacation. It is what you feel after a day away from your phone, or after hours spent on something you love, when the noise and the mental chatter have drained away and what remains is calm, clear, and ready.
It comes less from adding something than from taking things away — everything that leaves us burned out, tired, busy, and wired — until only a calm, relaxed awareness is left. The closer word might be poise.
You know the feeling. You unplug from everything, and something in you clarifies and settles into place. But Western culture has no good word for it. Our culture thinks of energy as tension, as a kind of upward strain. It treats energy as the opposite of calm.
I think energy and calm belong together. In fact, this kind of energy requires calm. It is the refreshed feeling after a vacation. It is the refreshed feeling after a day with your family and no phone. It is the refreshed feeling of going for a drive and coming home clear.
And once you have that energy, you live differently. Your decisions get clearer. You start listening to your intuition and acting on it. You work on the things you actually want to work on instead of falling into the things you merely have to do.
Most of us never get there. We drink the caffeine, we keep grinding, we push through — because that is what every message in our society tells us to do. And so we never feel this other energy, the aligned and clear kind.
The best word I have found for it is Totonou, a Japanese concept of alignment, of everything in mind and body settled into its proper place. People know it most vividly after moving through heat, cold, and rest — an onsen or sauna, then cold water, then stillness.
What follows is a calm alignment in which mind and body feel ready for whatever comes next. It is energy, but it is not manic. It does not burn you out.
It is the opposite of burnout. You feel deeply relaxed and precisely aligned for the next step. You carry a clear, calm energy that lets you move forward with purpose and with grace.
This is the feeling I'm aiming for with the first products of my new brand.
Literally changed the life of several riders, more than one of whom moved to Thailand after the trip

AI is p*rn for smart people. Ask it anything, have any conversation in any way you want at any time and without end.
Oh, and it mostly agrees with you or even bends to your masochism if you so desire.
Use it wisely. Know what it is. Remember you are human, it is not.
