Taylor should be the full time safety
I understand this staff has a tough time replacing senior players with younger guys full-stop, but Taylor is giving Alabama the best chance to win on the back end.
Alabama safety Ivan Taylor's role continues to increase. He logged 32 snaps against Tennessee, the most he's played this season.

Replying to @CrackerofWise
@CrackerofWise and I sitting in the upper deck talking about how Bama’s base package didn’t have enough speed on the field and Grubb left wondering AFTER THE GAME why Rogers wasn’t on the field.
What are we even doing here?
Why didn't Noah Rogers, Cederian Morgan didn't play more vs. Vols?
Tide OC Ryan Grubb's answer:
"Noah, honestly, when I heard how many snaps he got after the game, I was a little bummed. Some of that was just due to lack of length of drives."

Appreciate the accountability today from the staff.
But it’s about actually doing something to fix it at this point.
So far in 2026 the same stuff that got you whooped by IU and UGA last year and OU in 24 is the same stuff that got you whooped on Saturday at TN.
I think this is a pretty good list outside of Chip Kelly if we are talking realistic options.
But the major issue is that at the end of the day Grubb is running DeBoer’s system. Whoever would replace Grubb is going to be running the same offense. Just maybe sequencing it better.
Nothing will happen until after the season - if it does at all - but Kalen DeBoer should already have these four guys in mind to replace Ryan Grubb as Alabama’s OC:

We are “players only meeting” away from this season coming completely off the rails
Bray Hubbard: Alabama needs to 'get our swagger back' after suffering its second straight loss
"We'll see flashes, but we got to maintain it for four quarters. Obviously, that's on us as players to get fixed. We got to get it back."

Way too many people willing to give Wommack a pass the last two weeks.
Offense has been terrible but the defense simply isn’t stepping up when needed.
Both UGA & TN were able to work long, extended drives. Part of the reason the defense is gassed is they can’t get off the field
Everyone is talking about Alabama’s offense and calling for Grubb to be fired. I’m just as concerned about our defense, especially the secondary and coverage. As a former Alabama secondary player, I naturally look at the game through that lens. We have issues on both sides of the ball. Roll Tide. 🐘

Pretty glaring problem for a staff that was thought to be offensive gurus
Alabama's 6 lowest yardage games since 2015 have all come under Kalen DeBoer, including 4 with Ryan Grubb at OC:
193 yards vs. Indiana (loss) -- Ryan Grubb
201 yards at Tennessee (loss) -- Ryan Grubb
209 yards vs. Georgia in SEC CG (loss) -- Ryan Grubb
234 yards at Oklahoma in 2024 (loss) -- Nick Sheridan
260 yards at Oklahoma in CFP (win) -- Ryan Grubb
260 yards vs. Michigan in ReliaQuest Bowl (loss) -- Nick Sheridan
Between 2015-23, lowest yards Alabama posted was 261 against Clemson in the Sugar Bowl in January 2018.

"Moving forward it’s going to be another level of uncomfortable.”
