Yup, football is King... There is more cash on the University of Delaware Blue Hens' spread tonight than either the Sixers or Knicks spreads.

Per our data and confirmed by NFL Research, Jared Goff is the first player in NFL history to have 12+ passing TDs and zero giveaways through a team's first five games of a season. No other QB has ever done that before.

The Bears had 34 first downs today. The Jets had 32 plays. This is only the second game in the Super Bowl era (since 1966) in which a team had more first downs than its opponent had plays, per ESPN Research.

Very cool!
44 years ago today, Pat Summerall and John Madden called a Division-III college football game. Wittenberg vs. Baldwin-Wallace October 3, 1982 During the fall of '82, in the second week of the NFLPA's 57-day players' strike, CBS needed to get creative with its Sunday afternoon programming. So on October 3, the network sent its top NFL broadcast team of Pat Summerall and John Madden to Springfield, Ohio to call Division-III Wittenberg's game against its rival Baldwin-Wallace — each school with an enrollment then of about 2,000 students. Three other NFL on CBS broadcast teams were also assigned to call Division-III games that weekend. Wittenberg, Baldwin-Wallace, and the Ohio Athletic Conference were each paid $10,000 for the game. The video includes the CBS open and pregame introduction by Pat and John, the first several minutes of the game, and select highlights from this historic CBS broadcast. A very rare and fascinating telecast — and quite a thrill for those players, coaches, students, and communities.

The deepest defender against the Detroit Lions offense is lining up an average of nearly 14.5 yards per play from the line of scrimmage, the deepest mark in the NFL. There might not be a player in football opposing defensive coordinators are more fearful about killing them on one play than Jameson Williams. Opens up so much room for the rest of the offense to operate.
Yesterday I looked at how deep defenses lined up, now looking at what each offense has seen in terms how deep opposing defenders are aligning:

After Michigan escaped a Week 1 WMU upset, Oklahoma -5'ish over Michigan was the most popular Week 2 bet by far. Michigan won... Week 3, LSU as small favorites was the most popular ticket as Lane Kiffin returned to Ole Miss. Ole Miss won... Last week, Ole Miss and the points had the highest ticket count throughout the week as they went to The Swamp to take on Florida. The Gators smashed... This week, the Gators so far have the highest bet count by far, as 5-point favorites at Mizzou. Stay tuned...
