When I read about the ‘algorithm’ of @terra_money it sounds just like a crypto version of a pyramid scheme. Investors were promised 20% returns backed by a token whose value is driven only by demand from new investors in the token. There is no fundamental underlying business.

I agree with Rob on this. Doesn’t seem like @elonmusk needs to sell $TSLA shares to fund the $TWTR deal. If he takes on a PE partner and allows some public SH to roll their TWTR shares to the private deal, Elon doesn’t need to sell TSLA shares to fund the $21B equity investment.

As I mentioned last week, my belief is Elon will not be selling $TSLA to cover the initial purchase of $TWTR. The financing is structured so 51% is funded by Elon’s personal debt with 49% TBD equity. With equity positioned as minority stake, seems intended for other investors.

I've now been asked multiple times for my take on Elon's offer for Twitter. So fine, this is what I think about that. I will assume the takeover succeeds, and he takes Twitter private. (I have little knowledge/insight into how actual takeover battles work or play out) (long 🧵)

It angers me people don’t think long term. 100% the right strategy for America is move to EVs as fast as possible now. Filling our lifted trucks with gas in America is probably not sustainable but that free sun thing in the sky with no geopolitical risk looks good right now

Just spoke with a former civil servant colleague who has seen the draft strategy to reduce energy costs. The focus is on establishing two task forces, one for onshore wind and another for solar. We are truly screwed.
