I left a stable consulting career to start a portable storage business. I put everything into it—money, time, identity. Now I’m exiting that business and returning to the career I once left. Here’s what I’ve learned 🧵

I started a tradition with my daughters. Each year on their birthday, I record a video of me twirling them. It’ll be amazing to look back on them and see how they grew each year.

I’m constantly fighting an internal battle. Between wanting to be a billionaire and take over the world. And just wanting to provide a comfortable life for my family.

The older I get, the more I value boring. Reliable income. Healthy relationships. Predictable routines. Boring can be incredibly abundant.

Every setback I’ve had eventually pointed me toward something better. At the time it felt like loss. Looking back, it was redirection.

I’m learning that abundance isn’t just money. It’s time with my family. It’s peace of mind. It’s meaningful work. It’s sleeping well at night. Money matters. But it’s only one part of the equation.

I used to think changing direction meant I failed. Now I see it differently. Every chapter teaches you something the next chapter couldn’t exist without. Pivoting isn’t quitting.

For years I chased “more.” More revenue. More businesses. More projects. Lately I’ve been asking a different question: “What kind of life do I actually want?” Everything changed when I stopped measuring success only by income.

It’s been an interesting couple of years. Manifesting abundance to put that energy into the universe.

I have so many ideas, I find it hard to stay laser-focused on just one. Anyone else? Does anyone have a way to combat this?

I bought into the idea that working for yourself = freedom. No boss. No ceiling. Unlimited upside.

For some people, entrepreneurship is the right path. But for others, a steady paycheck + clear boundaries + less stress is a better life. And that’s perfectly okay.

The real goal isn’t always “being your own boss.” It’s building a life that actually feels good to live.
