🔊 SHAREWEAR REMINDER 🧩
Did you know the Cape Coral Police Department offers Sharewear bracelets as an additional safety resource for members of our community who may be vulnerable to wandering?
Sharewear can help provide important information about the wearer in an emergency. A smartphone can tap or scan the bracelet to quickly access information such as emergency contacts and medical details (swipe to the end for an example of what that looks like!).
The bracelets:
• Require no batteries or charging
• Are waterproof
• Can include identifying “PopIns,” such as “I am non-verbal” or the Autism puzzle piece symbol
• Provide officers with another tool to help identify and assist a vulnerable child or adult
Sharewear is available for individuals with conditions such as Autism, Alzheimer’s or Dementia and is intended to be an additional resource—not a replacement for programs like Project Lifesaver.
If you or a loved one could benefit from the Sharewear program, contact Victim Advocate Pat Lucas at [email protected] to learn more about the screening process. Please include your name, address, phone number and the diagnosis of the vulnerable child or adult when reaching out.
A special thank you to the Lee County Injury Prevention Coalition for helping make this program possible through grant funding!
Sharing this post could help another family learn about a resource that may make a difference. 💙
🚨PROPERTY CRIMES INVESTIGATION LEADS TO ARREST IN HIGH-DOLLAR JEWELRY THEFT🚨
The Cape Coral Police Department’s Property Crimes Unit has arrested a woman following a detailed investigation into the theft of approximately $61,000 worth of luxury jewelry, including a Rolex watch, diamond jewelry, and a gold pendant.
The investigation began after a victim reported that several valuable pieces of jewelry had disappeared from his residence. Over the following weeks, Property Crimes detectives conducted numerous interviews, developed new leads, and traced the stolen property through multiple witnesses.
The investigation ultimately revealed the suspect sold the stolen jewelry to a buyer in Lee County. Detectives obtained sworn statements from witnesses, recovered one of the stolen pieces of jewelry, and confirmed it belonged to the victim. The evidence gathered throughout the investigation established probable cause for the suspect’s arrest.
On July 28, 2026, detectives located and arrested Sarah Hankins, 30, without incident. During the arrest, investigators also discovered suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in her vehicle.
Hankins was transported to Lee County Jail and charged with the following:
F.S. 812.014 – Grand Theft
F.S. 812.019(1) – Dealing in Stolen Property
F.S. 893.13(6)(a) – Possession of a Controlled Substance
F.S. 893.147(1) – Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

🚨 Cape Coral Police Arrest Teen Suspect in Multi-Incident Retail Theft Investigation 🚨
The Cape Coral Police Department has arrested 18-year-old Arabella Calisto in connection with a string of retail thefts at the Target located at 1890 NE Pine Island Road.
The investigation, led by the Property Crimes Bureau, identified a pattern of coordinated retail theft occurring over the past several weeks. Loss Prevention personnel reported incidents on July 24, 2026, and August 4, 2026, where a female suspect was seen concealing hundreds of dollars in children’s toys and merchandise.
On August 7, 2026, as the investigation was gaining momentum, proactive police work led to an immediate breakthrough. CCPD Property Crimes Sergeant was at the store conducting a follow-up investigation related to the suspect’s previous incidents when he was alerted that the female suspect had returned to the store and was actively concealing merchandise.
Officers intercepted Calisto at the point of sale. Loss Prevention Officers confirmed her identity as the suspect involved in the previous thefts. Following the investigation, Calisto was taken into custody by detectives. The total value of the merchandise stolen across the three incidents is $1,305.73.
Calisto was transported to Lee County Jail and charged with Grand Theft (F.S. 812.015(8)(a)), a third-degree felony, due to the coordinated nature of the retail thefts occurring within a 30-day period with a cumulative value exceeding $750.

🚨 Scam Alert – Please Stay Vigilant 🚨
Government agencies, including police departments and sheriff’s offices, will never call you to request payment over the phone. If someone claims otherwise, it’s a scam.
If you’re ever unsure about the legitimacy of a call, please contact our non-emergency line at 239-574-3223. Our team will gladly verify whether the call is real.
Scammers often create a sense of urgency and may mention things like Bitcoin, gift cards, or immediate payment. These are major red flags — hang up right away and report the incident.
Your safety and peace of mind matter to us. Stay alert, Cape Coral! 💙🔵
