We’re happy to announce that the GOG Preservation Program has received the Research Data Alliance Award in the Commerce, Industry and the Third Sector category at the Digital Preservation Awards 2026!
GOG Preservation Program launched with 100 games in November 2024. By February 2026, it covered 267 titles with more than 1,400 fixes and improvements, including restored content. Our team works on each title individually, from custom DirectX wrappers to rebuilt installers, and it’s our commitment to keep them compatible with modern systems.

A woman who falsely accuses a man of sexual harassment and/or rape causes enormous harm not just to the man, but to all women who have actually been harassed or raped as their truthful claims will sadly be perceived to be less credible.
The result: fewer guilty rapists will be convicted, and more innocent accused rapists will be punished with extended time in jail for a crime they did not commit.
And yes, the same is true regardless of the gender of the accuser and the accused.
As such, the punishment for such a false accusation should be extremely severe, i.e., jail time, to discourage such behavior.
Tell me why I am wrong.
Don't let billionaires convince you slop is the future. They're used to managing & directing, not making things themselves. Of course they can't see the difference. They don't understand your love for the craft. Keep making personal, beautiful games.

Imagine if Europe, in the days after 9/11, had cleared its throat and announced: We have struck a tremendous deal with Osama bin Laden. We have lifted the sanctions on his organization, so he is now free to trade on the open market and bankroll his war against the United States. Bush must step down. The man has no cards.
Has he even looked at his hand?
But no. Europe did nothing of the sort. Europe did not sit down with a mass murderer and come home gushing about what a strong and reasonable fellow he turned out to be.
Europe laced up its boots, flew to Afghanistan, stood shoulder to shoulder with the Americans and hunted that bearded wretch through every godforsaken mountain in the country, because that is what you do when a friend gets hit, and handing the attacker a shopping list while telling the victim to surrender is what you do when you have lost your mind.

Online ads can apparently do a lot more than track you.
Citizen Lab has uncovered a technique called “AdFection” that uses targeted advertising to deliver zero-click spyware.
The attack works without the victim clicking an ad. A malicious ad can be shown to a specifically targeted device, exploit a vulnerability, and potentially install spyware automatically.
Citizen Lab traced the operation to Discover-Tech, an Israeli ad-tech company whose Controlium platform was used to profile and identify targets before delivering the spyware.
Researchers found evidence that at least 45 devices at Al Jazeera were infected with Candiru spyware between 2024 and 2025.
Discover-Tech’s advertising reached more than 120,000 websites and around 75,000 apps, potentially exposing hundreds of millions of users to the tracking infrastructure.
Google and other advertising companies have since cut ties with Discover-Tech following the findings. citizenlab.ca/research/how-d…

A U.S. congressman wants to change how we legally “own” video games.
Rep. Ritchie Torres has announced plans to introduce the Power To The Players Act, a bill that would direct the FTC to create rules protecting consumers who buy video games.
The proposal would give players three basic rights:
>The right to own the games they purchase, rather than simply receiving a revocable license
>The right to keep playing games after online servers are shut down, through an offline mode
>The right to transfer or resell games they own
Torres argues that if a company can take a game away simply by shutting down its servers, then the consumer didn’t really buy the game in the first place.
Torres also hopes the legislation could eventually establish a precedent for ownership rights across other parts of the digital economy:
“If you pay for it, you own it.”
Reklamami na Google infekowali telefony / komputery na całym świecie. Operacja AdFection.
Skąd to wiadomo?

Sony is now asking PS5 players on firmware 14.00 to update to 14.10 if they want to use PSN.
Players who stayed on 14.00 to keep the possibility of a future jailbreak are now being asked to update before they can sign in.
And it’s not just PSN. Some players who stayed on 14.00 are now finding that newer games, like Dune: Awakening, won’t even let them play without updating.

‼️ Ktoś zhackowal lodówki w ~500 supermarketach. Podkręcił temperaturę do +50C. Jedzenie do wyrzucenia, straty liczone w milionach. Jak to się udało?
✅ Bo lodówki były podpięte do internetu
W sumie mamy w kraju kilka francuskich supermarketów...
No ja pier... ktoś sobie reklamuje na Google fałszywą appkę Ledgera (sprzętowy portfel na kryptowaluty).
A Google daję tę fejkową reklamę na pierwszym (!) miejscu. przed linkiem do oficjalnej strony Ledger.
PS

No ale to dane z Niemiec.
To by dopiero było!

After getting PS2 discs working on jailbroken PS5 consoles, developers are now testing RPSSS3, a project that aims to get original PS3 discs running on the console too.
It’s still early, but if they can get it working properly, you could play more of your old PlayStation games on one console instead of digging out your old hardware.

Huge news, AnyPS5 has reached 100% GPU shader instruction coverage, a major milestone for bringing PS5 games to PC.
The project is working on translating PS5 game code so it can run on PC hardware.
Reaching 100% GPU shader instruction coverage means it has covered all the GPU shader instructions in its target set, removing one important obstacle to compatibility.
This could force Playstation to release games again on PC, GTA VI and other big ps5 games could hit PC with some work after this
