@RobProvince Kid looks like a sweetheart. He shot up a Special Ed class. Apparently the same one he attended.

Ida Fuller was the first person to start receiving SS retirement benefits. 1940. $500 in today's $. She paid in $600 (today's $) over two years. When she died in 1975 she had collected $23k. That's $140K in today's $. Nice gig if you can get it.
I’ve been shitting on Social Security for years now, and every single time, I’m told ad fucking nauseam:
“It’s MY money! I paid into it!”
Really? Then why would we need to raise taxes on everyone else just to give you “your” money?
Because it’s NOT your money. Your money was spent almost as soon as it came in. Today’s workers are paying for yesterday’s retirees.
It’s a massive, government run Ponzi scheme. And now, one of the largest generations in American history is collecting benefits.
In a traditional Ponzi scheme, this is where everything implodes: when there aren’t enough new investors coming in to pay off the old ones.
But there’s one crucial difference.
This one is backed by the federal government.
And when there aren’t enough new people paying into the system, the government has something Bernie Madoff never had:
The power to force the next generation to pay more, at gunpoint.
Exactly like I’ve been saying for years.
Hey @RobProvince I'm not the most religious guy (organized religion anyway) but as I get older, I think this is my church. I've had plenty of conversations with the almighty underneath a car, in the quiet, in the shop.
Hey @FedEx it was bad enough that only 3 of my 4 new tires made it here. Stuff happens. Fine. But the 4th is in CA? It shipped from DE. And PLEASE can you at least have Cust service agents that can speak English clear enough that I don't have to repeat everything 5 times?
He's not wrong. I mean folks might not like it, but go back in time and show a guy a bow and arrow and a rifle. See which one he picks to drop that Wooly mammoth so his family can eat.

This is 100% accurate. You either have the wind or you don't.
Here is another one: bow hunting sucks.
But GM did something else that year. Something that even a lot of gearheads don't know about. They introduced the first U.S. produced car with fuel injection. It was the 1957 Corvette. Even the Italians were envious.
