OptiTROP-Lung05 is clearly pos but interpretation is challenging because pembrolizumab monotherapy is not the most relevant standard for PD-L1 1β49% disease. the benefit seen in PD-L1 β₯50% supports genuine efficacy of sac-TMT + pembrolizumab beyond IO alone #ASCO26 @OncoAlert

The incredible @ARosen380 on a @SusanGKomen panel on #AYACancers at #ASCO26 talking about the lack of survivorship planning for long-term survivors. βI had to create my own survivorship plan.β As patients like Allison and I live longer, weβre putting the wheels on the bus while the bus is on the road. This is even more challenging for patients like us who arenβt seen in AYA settings. Itβs going to take us all - patients, PCPs, oncs, surgeons, etc - to solve this.

CAPTURE showed that in post-CDK4/6 PIK3CA-mutant HR+/HER2β MBC, alpelisib + fulvestrant did not beat capecitabine.
PFS: 7.4 vs 9.4 months; ORR: 24% vs 50%.
In patients with visceral disease, the picture was even more in favor of capecitabine.
The presence of a biomarker alone does not define the right treatment sequence.
Beating capecitabine is not that easy!!!
I wonder how capivasertib + fulvestrant would have performed here?

And now, @FeliciaKnaul shares personal, patient-level, system-wide and even global experiences and challenges when facing cancer, in the context of adverse access, funding or gaps in technology. #ASCO26 @tomateloapecho And brings hope on how to close the cancer divide.

Ngl, at parts I resisted this talk - realized my reflex to how do we keep the person in front of me alive - but everyone experiences loss. And we all need to know how to heal.
Death is not a failure. The extra time you give people is meaningful. @IamDavidKessler #ASCO26

A remarkable doctor, scientist, mentor, and human being.
If you were unable to attend the #ASCO26 Opening Ceremony, be sure to watch Dr. Eric Smallβs (@ASCOPres) Presidentβs Address online. It was centered on his values, his drive for translation and innovation, his global vision, and his personal experiences growing up in Mexico and losing his lifelong partner to cancer.
We are fortunate to know you and to have such an inspirational leader at @UCSFCancer.

Powerful presidential address by Dr. Eric Small at #ASCO26. The charge could not be clearer. Discovery without translation is an incomplete promise. The science has to make it to the clinic, to the bedside, to our patients and in the ways that matter most to them.
For every patient. Every cancer. Everywhere.
