The immigration questions on the referendum consist of things that Danielle Smith and her goons cannot do, things that she does not want to do, and things that sound good only to people who blame immigrants for things Smith cannot or does not want to do.

Alberta voted to stay in Canada but also to attack immigrants and take social programs and healthcare away from them
Danielle Smith and her idiocracy loving voters are voting for something that they have no authority over she effectively wasted ppl's time, energy and money on a meaningless referendum. She puts the dumb in referendum

I wish these horrible, tragic moments of mass casualty, during which healthcare workers undertake herculean efforts to save lives, caused Alberta Premier Danielle Smith to reevaluate her attacks on those very healthcare workers and Albertans’ access to them.
We are disturbed to learn that @CalgaryOpera has removed bass-baritone Gabriel Sanchez-Ortega from future performances of "Tosca" after he unveiled a Palestinian flag during the curtain call on opening night. Art is political, and artists should not be punished for expressing support for the Palestinian people as they face a genocide. This decision must be reversed.

Three Elders were killed and the only details that have been released was the killer had "a medical emergency" and was released the same day. Witnesses tell a completely different story.
Why isn't there more outrage about this?
The death toll from a truck crashing into a march for the National Day of Truth and Reconciliation has risen to three. Gwenyth Brigit Dwyn, 64, of South Delta died in hospital according to Delta Police. No charges have been laid as the investigation into the incident that also killed two Tsawassen Elders continues. aptnnews.ca?p=296082

You gave permission for a war criminal with a warrant out on him to use Canadian airspace. Can’t emphasize how much hypocrisy lies in the PM’s statements on any foreign policy issue. And you did it twice

ALT “The Houthi attacks on the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and in particular the strike on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, are abhorrent. There can be no justification for attacks on civilian infrastructure. No political or military objective can justify the deliberate targeting of innocent people. Canada condemns these reckless acts of violence in the strongest possible terms. We extend our deepest condolences to the families of those killed and wish a full recovery to those injured.” Prime Minister Mark Carney

Thank you to everyone who protected me today at the protest. I don’t know your names, but if you see this, you have my gratitude. Doing journalism in a time of paid rabid agitators, who shove their bodies and their phones in your face, as you’re trying to work, is nuts.
Join us for a celebratory evening as we showcase all the films on the big screen. A panel of local judges will select the winners: canadianculturalmosaicfounda… #yycfilms #yycarts

Canadians who care about justice & peace everywhere and for all - and not just in some places and for some people - celebrate Navi Pillay's 2026 Peace Prize, and not just for her work on Gaza, but against Apartheid in South Africa and to criminalize rape as an act of genocide.
Canadians condemn the Nobel Committee’s decision to award Navi Pillay the 2026 Peace Prize. Her leadership of the commission accusing Israel of genocide and support for sanctions against Israel raising profound concerns about impartiality. We believe this selection rewards bias and undermines the prize’s moral authority. Coming two days after October 7’s third anniversary, it is an affront to victims and survivors. Peace requires truth, fairness and unequivocal opposition to terrorism. We urge the committee to reconsider and uphold equal dignity and justice for Israelis and Palestinians alike. @AnitaAnandMP @NobelPrize

Rising residential school denialism and anti-Indigenous racism have created an environment where white supremacists feel emboldened to target and intimidate First Nations in their communities. It’s disgusting and completely unacceptable.
I echo @AFN_Updates and Leah Gazan’s calls for a full investigation into the hateful demonstration on the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation, and a swift response to address this escalating threat to nations across the country.
The act of hate and violence shown by white nationalist residential school denialists demonstrating on the Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation is abhorrent, dangerous and unacceptable.
This demonstration is a part of the escalating and harrowing attacks from residential school denialists, seeking attention and monetization from the promotion of hate.
I join the @AFN_Updates calls for a full investigation, and for governments to take urgent action to respond to residential school denialism with the urgency and seriousness needed to protect the safety and dignity of survivors.
The House of Commons unanimously recognized the Indian Residential School System as a genocide in 2022. Governments and leaders must respond to these attacks as what they are - the violent denial of genocide that poses a grave threat to the safety of survivors, families, communities and our nations.
Survivors have asked governments to protect their safety and their stories from residential school denialists, which is why I put forward Bill C-254 to add residential school denialism to the Criminal Code as an incitement of hate. This issue is non-partisan. That is why I have offered the Liberals my bill to take on as a government bill and criminalize residential school denialism once and for all. It is incumbent on the Liberal government to ensure the safety of survivors
Survivors deserve more than our words of condemnation. We owe them real action and real protection.
To Tk’emlups te Secwepemc First Nation, my heart goes out to you after this terrifying attack. I am holding all survivors of residential schools, their families and communities in my heart. I stand by you and uplift you.

This is what years of Residential School denial and attacking the rights of Indigenous people has lead to.
