A Labour Peer interviewing a Labour minister. This is so utterly absurd. We so badly need media reform.
Labour govt minister Yvette Cooper tells Labour peer Ayesha Hazarika, who is interviewing her, "you're a journalist"

Imagine being the President of France and never having heard of the French Revolution.

There are three groups: 1. People who know things are fucked but are too busy, exhausted and propaganda-addled to oppose the status quo. 2. People who benefit from status quo fuckery. 3. People who know things are fucked and fight the status quo. Group 1 is the largest. Group 3 is the smallest. Right now those of us in the third group can't do anything about the exhaustion and busyness of the people in the first group, but we CAN do something about how confused and propagandized they are. The most important thing you can do to help nudge us toward revolution at this juncture in history is therefore to inform, educate and spread awareness to counteract all the status quo indoctrination keeping public consciousness away from revolutionary politics. By doing this we can start moving people from Group 1 into Group 3. Once Group 3 outnumbers Group 2, things will start moving very fast.

Truth.
I agree that it's absolutely outrageous. This shows how Silicon Valley billionaire oligarchs manipulate the politics of so-called "democracies". But the problem is that when the Democrats take office, they will forget this happened and praise Zuckerberg as an ally, just like Trump. The solution: Silicon Valley corporate monopolies like Meta, Google, and Amazon should be nationalized and turned into apolitical public utilities, as water, electricity, internet, and transportation (and finance) should be. Or, at the very least, if they can't be nationalized, these corporate monopolies should be broken up. Separate Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp. Break up Google. Endorce antitrust legislation. But the Democrats won't do any of that either. When they take power, the Trump-loving Silicon Valley CEOs of today will rebrand as loyal Democrats and cozy up to the new Democratic president. They only care about maximizing earnings and market share. Politics is a game to them.

As Alberta debates separation, consider this: Alberta already enjoys more constitutional authority and control over developing its oil, gas and natural resources than almost any subnational government worldwide. It owns the resources, controls development and keeps Crown royalties. In most countries, these powers rest with national governments. #CanadaStrong #AlbertaStrong #StrongerTogether

Today is Persons Day. On this day in 1929, Canada's highest court of appeal finally ruled that women are "persons" under the law. I'm incredibly proud that Deputy Leader Aislinn Clancy co-sponsored the bill that made this day official in Ontario. In 2026, there's more work to be done, but it's important to celebrate the women whose path we follow.

To the people, especially those in the United States, who don’t understand the protests in France: A government that doesn’t fear the people is a government that doesn’t serve the people.
Protesters in Montpellier, France unveil a banner that reads: “The People Will Triumph!” The working class is humanity’s last line of defense against the neoliberal and neofascist politicians who work together to sell us out to the billionaire class and the war machine.

another democrat joins the chorus of right wing neo-nazis to attack their left flank. great. this constant desperation to appease the right is precisely why we're in this mess to begin with.
As Democrats, we constantly criticize the far-right for their incendiary and discriminatory politics, but we need to hold ourselves to the same standard. Hasan Piker’s rhetoric is polarizing and dangerous, and embracing him as a party is a mistake. I am disappointed that Minnesota DFLers are hosting an event with him here.

Macron scolds protesters for “violence” right after the police used stun grenades that injured several protesters and caused one man to lose his hand. Neoliberal politicians are neofascists in disguise. They fund endless wars, serve big corporations, and support state violence against the people. The time for revolution is now!

ZELENSKYY: “I told Trump: If you enable Starlink access inside Russia, we can quickly destroy their ballistic missile launchers. Putin would come to the negotiating table, and I wouldn’t need to destroy a single energy facility. But instead, they shut down Starlink. They didn’t expand coverage — they restricted it.”

The campaign against Polanski has now reached Corbyn levels of hysteria. So normalised has this become for the political/media class that they are totally oblivious to the fact the bulk of the public are saying - hang on, but he's Jewish. According to Opinium 81% of Green voters who expressed a view said they supported the Zionism is racism motion and 60% of ALL voters under 34. It is absolutely vital the current Green Party leadership stands firm. Millions switched to the Greens precisely because they appeared to be prepared to stand firm on the great moral issue of our day. To buckle would be disastrous for British democracy.

The world is watching Texas’s Paxton–Talarico Senate race. It raises a bigger question: Why should wealthy donors and PACs wield such outsized influence in U.S. elections? Canada strictly limits political spending. Imagine a level playing field where Texans’ voices count more than money.
