Having 4pm NFL games ending in the dark now (East Coast viewers) and then hearing the ticking of the "60 Minutes" stopwatch makes me feel that I have Algebra and American History homework to do tonight, even though I'm in my 50s now.

I was asked long ago what flavor I wanted in my blend and I was stunned by how perfect it is.

What's great about this Rays-Guards series is that neither of these teams could even afford a dancing mechanical bird automaton

I love this story SO much! Praying for your recovery @KeithMalinak !
Shout out to #PatHead and AWESOME Nebraska State Trooper Eric Janssen for pulling me over but being incredibly cool.
I've NEVER heard the phrase "Are you THE Keith Malinak?"🤣
PS. He assured me that my minor speeding infraction only warranted a warning BEFORE he recognized me!

A bit of advice for dealing with depression:
Depression is a bit like being followed by a sluggish monster. His teeth are sharp and he can do some real damage if he fully gets a hold of you. But he's slow, slower than you are. And you just have to keep moving to stay out of his clutches.
This doesn't mean you have to sprint. This doesn't mean you have to solve all of the sources of your anxiety, or work through all of your problems on a regular basis. But you do have to move faster than he does. Somedays he's breathing down your neck. Somedays he's half a mile away. Either way, you gotta keep moving, step by step.
Pray. Confess your sins to your pastor. Go to church. Read your Bible. Step, step, step, step. Eat well. Exercise as robustly as you can. Lift weights, if you can. But even if you can only go for a mile long walk a day, do that. Step. Step. Step. Don't drink too much. Don't smoke pot. Avoid doomscrolling. All of that is sitting down and letting the monster catch up.
But even if he has caught up, don't give up. You can get away from him. But you can't get away from him on the ground. You just have to get up and take the steps. So get up. Start moving. Do the little things, the one-at-a-time things. You will put more distance between you and the monster, even if he never gets as far behind as you'd like.
So, on the days when it feels like he's conquered you, don't despair. Don't give up hope. Don't surrender yourself to his jaws. Don't pity yourself. Just say, "ah, stupid me. The monster caught up. Oh well. He's slow. And I'll take a few steps and things will start to get better."

The fact we haven't heard anything from Rod Belding yet confirms what we thought we knew about him.

Where did the "adult contemporary" genre go? Where are the middle aged men singing songs that neither fire me up nor calm me down, but rather make me nod along in quiet appreciation that a song is currently occurring.
