Disappointing to see an electric motorcycle being used illegally on the Wivenhoe Trail. Not good for pedestrians or cyclists.
Why is @yourcolchester considering a byelaw for food delivery riders when West Mersea is tiny and existing highway law already covers pavement riding and obstruction? Other councils have found bespoke rider byelaws disproportionate and expensive. Why is this needed? @pdundas26

Good to see progress on a new bus station for Colchester. The interchange on Osborne Street is a mess. This is a real opportunity to reimagine Queen Street for the future @pdundas26
These disintegrating areas on the new Mill Rod cycle path don’t need fixing according to @Essex_CC. We assume that means the shoddy work by the original contractor will go unpunished and eventually the Essex taxpayers will pick up the bill.
Tell me your cycle parking is rubbish without telling me your cycle parking is rubbish @ESNEFT
We wish councillors at Colchester and Essex councils were equally passionate about children being able to independently travel to school in safety
In the 1970s, over 80% of UK children travelled to school independently. This has fallen 25% - impacting health, well being, independence etc.
In London, we're tackling the school run. With 870 school streets, 66% of kids now walk, cycle or scoot.

Getting from A to B in rural areas isn't always straightforward.
Today, Active Travel England has launched the Rural Design Guide – technical guidance to help local authorities create safe, accessible and attractive active travel routes in rural areas.
Unfortunately we won't be able to provide any more of our updates on @EssexPoliceUK Extra Eyes performance as we are no longer receiving the data. We are hoping that the data will be published in a helpful format by @EssexPoliceUK or @SaferEssexRoads.

Today, the Government has announced plans to deliver thousands of new walking, wheeling and cycling routes across England, transforming everyday trips to schools, shops and services.

The evidence is clear – active travel benefits the nation.
Walking, wheeling and cycling for everyday journeys – to work, school, the shops or for leisure – supports our health, keeps money in our pockets and boosts local high streets.

This massive bellmouth junction off London Road between Stanway and Copford is going to be terrible for pedestrians to cross. @yourcolchester and @Essex_CC need to do better to keep pedestrians safe.
