Thank Christ. These trucks look like ass.

In Fahrenheit 451, the chief book-burner, Captain Beatty, describes how reading became obsolete because the public demanded increasingly fast-paced entertainments, and those entertainments slowly corroded their ability to think. “Books cut shorter. Condensations. Digests, tabloids. Everything boils down to the gag, the snap ending. Classics cut to fit fifteen-minute radio shows, then cut again to fill a two-minute book column … Many were those whose sole knowledge of Hamlet was a one-page digest in a book that claimed, ‘Now at last you can read all the classics.’ … School is shortened, discipline relaxed, philosophies, histories, languages dropped, English and spelling gradually neglected, finally almost completely ignored. Life is immediate, the job counts, pleasure lies all about after work. Why learn anything save pressing buttons, pulling switches?”
In this passage Ray Bradbury foretells the intellectual hollowing out of the working class, the advent of AI-generated “summaries” of classic novels, the attention-frying culture of short-form video, the relaxation of educational standards into non-existence. All of this in a book published in 1953.

There’s an easy cure for this and it’s called medieval peasant-maxxing. You need to be building fires and playing festive carols. You need to be taking long walks, learning crafts and listening to stories read aloud. You need to be loading up on cheese and breads and pies.
If your VERY FIRST reaction to watching a horrific Learjet crash is “That looks fake,” “It was a missile,” or “Where’s the debris?” then congratulations. You’ve just identified yourself as the perfect mark for every conspiracy grifter on the internet.
It’s the same breathtaking stupidity that gave us the 9/11 Pentagon “missile” and “missing debris” conspiracy theories.
A horrific tragedy unfolds before your eyes, and before you know a single fact, your first instinct is to invent a conspiracy. STFU & GTFO!
You’re not “just asking questions.” You’re broadcasting your ignorance, your gullibility, and your complete inability to distinguish evidence from bullshit.
And the people exploiting these tragedies know EXACTLY who you are. They know how to manipulate you, outrage you, and keep you coming back for another helping of manufactured mystery.
They turn human suffering into conspiracy content, and you eagerly spread it for them.
You think you’re exposing a cover-up. You’re actually exposing how easily you can be played.
The grifters have a product. You’re the customer.
Imagine traveling all the way to Manhattan for Halloween, just to be one of 10,000 people halfheartedly wearing a costume in front of the M&M store.

This POS consistently blames other people for his films’ underperformance, ignoring the fact that he hasn’t put his name on anything worth watching since Jojo Rabbit and What We Do In The Shadows.
Taika Waititi has called critics “sad lost souls” after ‘KLARA AND THE SUN’ became his lowest rated film ever on Rotten Tomatoes.
“I haven't read a review of anything aimed at me or my peers in almost 15 years. But I do listen to the people.
So this Halloween, let's spare a thought for those sad lost souls who couldn't achieve their dreams of becoming artists, and thus became critics. The same people who also hated Jojo Rabbit!
Irrelevant. Out of touch. Obsolete. In the bin.”

Our ancestors, the Celts, stood on hills up and down Britain at the end of the harvest and the start of winter.
They lit the great fires, they feasted, and they masked their faces so the spirits who crossed the thinning veil wouldn’t recognise them. They looked into the flames for signs of the year ahead.
They called it Samhain. Later it blended with All Saints’ Eve and became the Halloween we still mark.
This is our history. These are our people.
Don’t forget where we come from.🫶🏻
