Roll over Bryson Dechambeau, James Braid would like a word!
I just acquired my "White Whale".
A full set of James Braid's innovative 1949 "Simalie" clubs, using only 3 different shaft lengths & lies.
Tried them out last evening & they are so nice to hit. Nowt is new in Golf
Please support my good friend Jim's tribute to his beautiful son Jake (who I like to think is currently winning Heaven's 4-Ball Knockout with his brother Jordan).
Out of terrible tragedy Jim's and Jake's love of Scottish Golf can (with your help) leave an enduring legacy.
Thinking of our good friend and TGJ contributor @JimHHartsell.

Challenge for golf architecture nerds out there:
Where is this grassed "Principal's Nose" to be found, discovered in rough between two holes with requisite 1980's tree planting obscuring the strategic intent of this classic feature?
Once more unto the breach, dear friends, once more;
Or close the (Wonder)wall up with our English dead...
...The game's afoot:
Follow your spirit, and upon this charge
Cry "God for Harry (Kane), England, and Saint George!"

Having played the Old and New at Walton Heath we paid tribute to a golfing legend who is laid to rest nearby in Walton-on-the-Hill.
James Braid, a 5 times Open Champion, famed and prolific course designer, and long time Pro at Walton Heath.
A true giant of the game. ❤️🏴⛳️

When you go on a non-Golfing weekend break and the finest writing of this great game keeps calling to you...IYKYK
@JimHHartsell
(P.S. Learning of the trip was that this writer drove a light blue convertible Mustang! Now that really was a surprise...)
When you join the Seniors Section & your son finds the perfect gift for a golf history nerd, it is a really good day!
Great choice from him. Great "merch" & service from @waltonheath_gc
A ball-marker that celebrates the great man's 5 Opens in detail, & noting his tenure at WHGC
After far too long without an image of the great man in my study (as I had donated my previous print to my home club for the Centenary in 2007) today was a good day. Having picked this print up from the framers, it will be hung in the study tomorrow. Very chuffed!
On Masters Day 1, a wonderful surprise to receive a beautiful Green & Gold bound book featuring Bob Jones, James Braid and the history of one of England's finest (and ever improving) links. Many Thanks @Simon11Coombs & @wallaseygolf
Georgia, Geor-gia, the whole day through...
(P.S. the chute back to new rear tee on 7 looks a touch tight 😉)

Just listening through the @firmandfastgolf podcast back catalogue, recommended listening. I really enjoyed Episode 16: with @AdrianLogue.
So, Adrian what thinks you about this path? Cheers 🥃

Never forgotten 🤍 #Dunblane
In the 1970's Dr. Evelyn Stevens discovered this lovely snowdrop growing in her woodland garden near Dunblane. Following the 1996 #Dunblane massacre she named it 'Sophie North' in memory of one of the victims who, like most of the children, was just 5 years old. #NeverForgotten

Hearts appear throughout the natural world, in leaves, flowers, seed pods and unfolding fronds. A small gathering of botanical hearts for St. Valentine’s Day. #ValentinesDay

ALT Nine square botanical photographs arranged in a grid, each showing a naturally heart-shaped form. A cyclamen leaf with pale green marbling; a pink bleeding heart flower; clusters of tiny white flowers; a snowdrop; curled fern fronds; shepherd’s purse seed pods; a delicate umbel; blue forget-me-nots forming a heart shape; and a pair of swelling buds. Soft green backgrounds throughout.
