ALT A quote from Danielle, Oliver's mum. It says - "Although it was scary at first not knowing how Oliver would respond to the medication or what the side effects might be, the trial team looked after us incredibly well. The treatment has enabled Oliver to manage his condition for more than a decade and has allowed him to live a much more normal life than we ever thought possible."

ALT A speech bubble on a blue background containing a quote from a parent named Kelly about the nature of medical research. It says "Research doesn't mean your child has to be a guinea pig for a new drug, it can be in the form of a questionnaire, blood/stool tests, biopsies and routine check-up information. There are lots of avenues for research."

ALT A woman in a navy blue nurses uniform with gold piping on the collar, sleeves and pockets. She is smiling and is standing outside.

ALT A quote form Vicky Amiss-smith, clinical lead nurse for cambridge children's hospital. It says - "Those who live through a challenging physical or mental health journey become experts by experience. They know the noise of busy wards, the anxiety of going to theatre, the exhaustion from lack of sleep, the cost of hospital food and the psychological impact of being very unwell and far from home."

ALT A photo of a model of Cambridge Children's Hospital, with a particular focus on the large back garden with trees and green spaces. The words say - Cambridge Children's Hospital will care for children in the East of England affected by cancer, and their families. There is a yellow ribbon representing Childhood Cancer Awareness Month

ALT A quote from Professor Isobel Heyman, Cambridge Children's Hospital mental health co-lead - “The success of this research study adds to the academic evidence that family involvement contributes to improved outcomes and can form part of care-pathways for mental ill-health that reduce inpatient use. Cambridge Children’s Hospital takes this a step further by fully integrating physical and mental health provision. It will provide regional specialist inpatient mental health care of children where there is medical instability, severe or rapidly escalating risk, or a level of supervision/treatment that cannot safely be provided in the community. However, our emphasis will be on avoiding hospital admission and facilitating timely discharge for those children who do need admitting. This will be achieved through a robust regional model of family-inclusive, community-based care for children and young people with mental health difficulties.”
