love @mopennock closing statement that digital preservation is, at the end of the day, a people thing. it's often framed as a technical or finance problem, but it all doesn't matter if you don't have the people to do it. #memorymakers18

so many of the tools that #digitalpreservation relies on, were nighttime/weekend self-driven projects (either hobbies or to solve a problem that someone had in a work context). not nearly enough recognition of the volunteer work effort (aka love jobs) in #digipres #nttw3 #dp0c
Replying to @criticalsenses @dericed
This is actually also how Mediainfo started 15 years ago (it was just an hobby about studying file content byte by byte). Having time for hobbies helps a lot to start having some expertise.

thank you to everyone in the #digitalpreservation community for filling out the #dp0c & @dpc_chat maturity survey - we received over 300 responses. we know some respondents weren't able to answer all questions, however this is still a reasonable dataset for #digipres to work with
#DP0C team in collab with @dpc_chat have devised a #digitalpreservation staff resourcing, maturity & strategy survey - now we need your input.
