I was listening to NPR this morning (Don't unfriend me, I switch the car radio to NPR when the AM talk shows are running 5 straight minutes of commercials).
The NPR commentator said (in the same breath), the riots in France are "mostly peaceful," and "over 1,000 police officers have been injured."
