SkAI and NNCI welcomed @Caltech’s Dr. @AnimaAnandkumar on neural operators & AI for science. From a weather model that beat supercomputers to simulating black holes and fusion reactors, she still emphasizes the human role: "AI isn’t replacing scientists anytime soon."

Really excited to share that our work on TorchLean at @Caltech, with @AnimaAnandkumar, has been selected for support through the 2026 AI for Math Fund, run by @RenPhilanthropy and funded by @xtxmarkets. Since releasing TorchLean, we’ve expanded from verified neural-network execution to autodiff, floating-point semantics, verification, and GPU execution; uncovered bugs and semantic mismatches across major ML stacks; and seen teams at major companies and U.S. national labs begin using it for ML verification. With this support, we’re excited to push toward formally verified GPU execution and GPU kernel verification—part of a broader goal of making AI and scientific computation trustworthy across the full stack. TorchLean: leandojo.org/torchlean.html Congrats to all the winners!
We're delighted to announce the winners of this year’s grants from the AI for Math Fund, powered by founding donor @xtxmarkets: 22 winners, 30+ organizations, selected from 400+ applications across 50 countries. Backed by a record $17.1M from XTX Markets, bringing their total commitment to $35.1M. renaissancephilanthropy.org/… 1/2

Introducing AlphaProtein Novo, a pipeline for de novo enzyme design! In collaboration with @francesarnold's group, we developed AP Novo and used it to get SoTA "novel-scaffold" activity on 2 benchmark reactions and create enzymes to synthesize the pharmaceutical motif piperidine and degrade the environmental toxin DEHP. Work led by @ZvxyWu @ZiqiLi0513 with teammates @alexechu_ @kelly_ruijie @schulluc @jacobjinkelly @rosaliags @davidla @solserpens @j_reisenbauer, @pengliu_group, Josh, Thomas, Amy, Tristan, Harshnira, and others. It was a joy and privilege to work with you all! Preprints and code: biorxiv.org/content/10.64898… biorxiv.org/content/10.64898… github.com/google-deepmind/a…

NASA’s Roman Space Telescope could uncover oodles of potentially Earth-like exoplanets during its survey of our galaxy’s central, star-packed bulge. But astronomers probably won’t be able to learn much more about most of them. spklr.io/6018ErrQ4

Congrats, @NASARoman team — what an amazing launch! We are excited to follow the telescope’s journey to L2 and can’t wait to see what it reveals about the universe.
Ad astra ⭐ At 7:26am ET (1126 UTC) on Aug. 30, @NASARoman took to the skies en route to its new home 1 million miles away from Earth. It should reach its final destination in one month: go.nasa.gov/4iDR2Hz

What's so cool about the Roman Coronagraph? Well, it's the first *active* coronagraph in space, meaning that it can adjust itself on the fly to help scientists get the clearest glare-free images. The @NASARoman Space Telescope is set to launch on Sunday, Aug. 30!
