Not exactly hay but we'll still make it while the sun shines ☀️ last and final outing for the harvester thank God 🙈 grass normally wrapped up well before the maize is cut, not this year, maize in nearly 3 weeks and all ploughing and sowing finished 👌

Frosted tips are back in fashion!

This year's stroke of madness 🤪 can't have enough hardship about the place!

Definitely will be doing the same next year, calves kept in on TMR after weaning. Put to grass only in July & housed now. We grew more silage for 2nd cut than they had eaten & definitely better quality. True cost of keeping them in definitely reduced because of that. No setbacks

Clover! post emerg clover sprays not working well and a lot more expensive than non clover safe. We've been using plenty of r&w clover over the last 4-5 yrs and love them. Problem is weeds, 2 paddocks sprayed before the docks/thistle take over completely. I feel more will follow.

Sometimes multi species doesn't go well 🙈 it's definitely multi species but I think docks are the majority shareholder 🫣 jury is out on whether to spray it or just go for a full reseed again 🙈

Anyone know where I can find a few more of these tubes? Can't find them anywhere.

On to the next mission, getting a bit of ground ready for drinkers before sowing a winter crop and going to grass next summer 👌 great tool for the digger to bury the pipe as we go, saves a lot of time and digging

Maize 2026 complete, last load into the pit and now to get 2 pits ready for covers 🙈 definitely won't be needing any sort of fodder budget round here anytime soon!

Maize harvest kicked off here 🌽 drought hasn't impacted this crop anyway, it was the first sown on farm at the end of April. Always a satisfying job 👌

9 days in and she's broke the 40kg line yesterday with 4.65% BF and 4.18% Protein, 3.53kgMS.

Beef cattle flying on putting on a nice bit of cover 👌 all home bred Dairy X Beef cattle. Last batch of 19-20month olds came in over 300kg average.

That's the last of the reseeds for this year thankfully, serious seedbed from the @AlpegoUK, quite Stoney ground but not leaving too much to be gathered up. Certainly less than the plough and sower 😬 @Goldcrop Hi digestibility going in.

Phochain Sprite Tamara 3150 - 24 hours calved, 25ltrs and 5 milkings. Some cows just love the robot 🤖 done 10,900kg in 2nd lac with 800kgMS with a calving interval of 337 days to a sexed straw. Expecting big things this year 🤞

Oldest cow in the herd into her 12th lactation. Missed her first 2 lactations on the parlour before going to robots. 9038kg milk with 818kgMS per lactation. Calved down with a Hfr calf from sexed straw 👌 too old for a flush? 🤔

On the bright side they might walk this into the ground tonight with the supposed rain that's due to fall 🤷
