Beyond the list of recent revocations of passes, there is a long history of Presidents punishing yellow journalism. The fundamental argument here is correct.
The President is not required to speak to reporters at all.
The press pool is a non-public, voluntarily act by the White House to give information directly to the public.
Access to the President and White House is a privilege conditioned on sharing objective facts with the public.
When those conditions are not met, privilege can be revoked. This is common sense.
This cartel of for-profit Opinion & Editorial Entertainment Outlets are not journalist organizations. If they don’t want to report the news, then they should not be granted the privileges extended to journalists.

As usual, people don’t even understand what is happening.
The 5 corporations - ABC, CBS, CNN, Fox News, NBC - all share responsibility for broadcasting the television feed of the press pool. They rotate responsibility daily.
There are still dozens of news outlets and independent journalists sitting in the press pool today. The press has access to the President and the White House. There is no “ban on the free press.”
Of the 5 corporations, all except CNN use publicly owned over the air broadcasting for their content.
All five are for profit corporations.
CNN is operating as an Opinion & Editorial Entertainment outlet rather than a public press broadcaster. The White House has revoked their press pass due to their choice to not practice journalism and report the objective news.
In response, the 5 corporations are exerting their cartel monopoly power over television broadcast of White House press events to remove the White House from public broadcast air waves.
4 of these corporations earn their profits off our publicly owned air waves. They do not own them.
And they are weaponizing those airwaves to collude with each other to take the White House off the air.
Entertainment opinion media corporations masquerading as journalism has no right to access the President or White House, while public broadcasters have an obligation to objectively report the news and share information from the government in exchange for their monopoly on publicly owned air waves.
There should be an immediate move to remove their access to broadcast airwaves and grant it to competitors.
Publicly owned infrastructure cannot be used by for profit corporations to act against the duly elected government.
If they refuse to meet their commitments, take them off the air and let someone meet the obligation to serve the public.

Any news outlet operating on public broadcast that refuses to air the President should have its license suspended immediately.
You cannot censor the President on a publicly owned broadcast airwave.
Access to the press pool is not censorship. Refusing to air the President is.
An inability to sit in the White House press room does not prevent an Op-Ed Commentary Outlet from publishing their opinions.
There is zero censorship occurring. CNN is on the airwaves right now saying whatever they want.

My phone just pinged me with an “on this day” memory from this day three years ago on 9/20/23.
We were in Eagle Pass, TX and witnessed a mass illegal crossing of more than 4,000 illegal aliens crossing in one single spot in just two hours, leading to CBP having to shut down the nearby international bridges & ports of entry.
@FoxNews was the only network there.
The only resistance offered was Texas military & DPS assets which had placed razor wire at the edge of the river, but the Biden Border Patrol cut through it and in one infamous case, even used heavy machinery to lift it out of the way so the illegal aliens could proceed into the U.S.
A complete free for all that day - and it would get even worse three months later in December 2023 when the illegal crossings reached the highest ever recorded in U.S. history with more than 11,000 in a single day.

Iran's ballistic missile program is just as much a reason for the Iran War as the nuclear weapons program, and what we're seeing play out confirms this reality
Recently @PalmerLuckey, founder of Anduril, said:
“China had provided Iran with manufacturing equipment and manufacturing expertise that had caused a steep curve upwards in their ballistic missile production capacity. They were only a few months into that production capacity.
If you allowed them to continue that for even two years, they would build an arsenal that is so vast that we could never afford to take action. They could build nuclear weapons with impunity. They could strike U.S. or allied bases with impunity, and we just wouldn’t be able to do anything. We could not let the Iran situation turn into North Korea on steroids.”
A few things have since become clear as the Iran War has now settled the the question of combat defined variables. We know that we have not been able to sufficiently neutralize their ballistic missile/drones to the point where they can't leverage attacks on energy and maritime transportation. Also, US interceptor levels are now critically low and production is insufficient to regenerate stocks
What this means is that given a few more years, Iran would have had the means to produce enough missiles/drones, of increasingly greater range, to effectively hold the entire world hostage...and the North Korean model would have been replicated
In some ways you could argue that the US waited too long to take action because Iran has already spread their tentacles far too wide to be easily contained
It also creates a dilemma for the United States because a simple "deal" on nuclear development would not be sufficient to also curb Iran's conventional capabilities
Iran was trying to use the North Korean model to get a nuke: create sufficient conventional deterrence so you won’t be challenged in acquiring one (it’s called the Seoul Hostage Problem).
This has been explained over and over since day one.
Everyone claiming shifting goalposts or no imminent threat has been lying.
The reason North Korea was allowed to get nukes is because Seoul (and its 10 million inhabitants) is within artillery and rocket range of North Korea.
During the 1994 nuclear crisis, the Clinton administration seriously considered airstrikes on North Korea’s Yongbyon reactor but backed off precisely because of the artillery threat to Seoul.
Iran was trying to accomplish the same by stockpiling missiles and drones which would have had the same deterrent effect. The proof is what Iran has been doing in the past month: attacking all its neighbors in order to pressure the US to stop attacking it
Beyond this, they were building medium-range ballistic missiles that could reach Paris and London, meaning all of Europe could be held hostage as they built a nuclear bomb.
The reason Iran has not built a nuclear weapon until now is not because it couldn’t, but because it knew it would be attacked and denied this capability.
So by allowing them to continue developing this conventional deterrence, you would be allowing Iran to get a nuclear weapon.
And unlike North Korea, Iran is led by an eschatological death cult
Reagan saw nuclear mutually assured destruction (MAD) as both morally bankrupt (because of the innocent-body-count problem) and dangerously fragile because it assumed flawless rationality between adversaries…this means it only takes one irrational actor to destroy the world.
Working backwards from the conclusion that Iran’s Islamist regime must never have a nuclear weapon, it was necessary for the US to attack Iran to deny it the conventional capacity to hold the entire eastern hemisphere hostage.
Every European leader knows this and behind the scenes praises the US for this action. But they are cowards, held hostage by their own internal Muslim populations, and so adopt these ridiculous public positions.
This was never about Israel. And if your argument is that Iran should be allowed to get a nuclear weapon then you are a fool and a traitor to western civilization…you’re a useful idiot

“Big Oil” does not set the market price for gasoline and diesel.
Prices are largely determined by crude oil futures, as well as refining costs and distribution. Taxes on fuel can also add a significant chunk to the price per gallon depending on the state you live in. Blue states have higher tax rates.
That said, why are you outraged about gas and diesel prices? Isn’t this what you wanted to force a “green energy transition” to avert climate catastrophe?
Or is your climate panic a grift too?

The dumbest thing about voting Dem in November because of gas prices (aside from the fact you'd be voting people that hate you back into power for something temporary) is that a blue wave wouldn't even lower gas prices, it'd actually increase them and probably quite significantly at that.
The reason? Iran is banking on the idea that Trump and Republicans will suffer major setbacks in Congress which would strengthen their hand in the conflict and negotiations while significantly weakening ours. For example, say if the Dems gain both chambers, they can then sail a war powers act through Congress, Trump could veto it and he likely would but considering the political situation in this scenario there would more than likely be enough votes to override his veto, thereby seceding all possible military leverage we have over the Iranians.
Thus meaning the Iranians would be free to exercise near complete control over the strait and possibly even the red sea through their Houthi proxy. This would in turn lead to a skyrocketing of oil prices which will drive up gas prices even more here and in Europe, and it would remain fixed at those elevated levels as the Iranians deliberately stall and attack shipping to inflict economic pain as a way to extract concessions from the US. All this to say, if you want lower gas prices the worst possible thing you could do is needlessly reward the Democrats with your vote, you won't be getting anything of what you vote for.
On the other hand if Trump and Republicans instead retain or even expand their current "majorities" in Congress. Iran's entire strategy falls by the wayside and they lose any leverage they have left, which more than likely means a swift conclusion to the conflict through a negotiated settlement with very favorable terms for the US. On top of that Trump and Republicans would retain the ability to address cost of living concerns with a friendly Congress moving forward, you will get NOTHING for the next two years otherwise.
Did I also forget to mention that we wouldn't have to sit through the next two years of a deadlocked government and moronic, pointless investigations and impeachment hearings that go nowhere?

I don’t understand why everyone is suddenly acting confused about Iran. Trump never hid the ball on this. He said he didn’t want new wars, and he also said, repeatedly and for years, that Iran would not be allowed to have a nuclear weapon. Those positions were never mutually exclusive.
“No new wars” never meant Iran gets a nuclear weapon because stopping them might require military force. Trump didn’t suddenly change his position or invent a new red line after he got elected. He’s been explicit about where that line was for years.
None of this came out of nowhere. None of it is a backtrack. And for some of us, it’s exactly why we voted for him.
