Ripple may have just validated a market that Shido has been positioning itself to enter.
Ripple Prime has launched 24/7 perpetual swaps tied to more than 100 traditional markets, including stocks, ETFs, indices, metals, energy and foreign currencies.
Shido has previously outlined plans to integrate an on-chain order book and perpetual trading into its native DEX. If delivered, Shido would approach this growing market from the decentralized side: wallet-based access, blockchain settlement, low network fees and no traditional closing bell.
The two offerings are not equivalent today:
• Ripple Prime is live and institution-focused
• Shido’s native perpetual platform remains a potential ecosystem expansion
But here is what makes Shido especially interesting to early-stage speculators: its market capitalization is still only around $2 million.
At that size, successful execution, growing liquidity and wider adoption could create considerable upside. However, the same microcap structure also brings extreme volatility and limited liquidity—so the opportunity and risk are both amplified.
Traditional finance is moving toward 24/7 blockchain-based markets. If Shido successfully builds the infrastructure it has outlined, today’s valuation may eventually look remarkably early.

If “we’re cheaper than Ethereum” is your biggest selling point, what happens when Ethereum gets cheaper?
That’s why I’m interested in differentiated L1s like $SHIDO.
EVM + WASM support, cross-chain connectivity, and an ecosystem of tools give builders and users more to evaluate than transaction fees alone.
The next test is turning those capabilities into sustained adoption.
More chains won’t automatically mean more value. Give people a reason to use yours—and a reason to stay.
Ethereum Is Killing the L2 Boom by Fixing Itself
Blast, Abstract, Polygon zkEVM, Loopring, Zero, Mint, Swellchain, Sophon and others are shutting down or winding down in 2026.
The common problem?
The economics no longer work.
As Ethereum becomes cheaper, faster and more scalable, many standalone L2s lose the main reason they existed: providing cheaper blockspace and reducing Ethereum’s limitations.
This is the part the market is missing.
Ethereum is fixing the weaknesses that created the L2 boom in the first place.
Cheaper data availability reduces L2 operating costs, while better throughput and infrastructure make it less necessary for every app, wallet, NFT ecosystem or payment product to launch its own chain.
So L2 shutdowns don't necessarily mean Ethereum is losing.
They can mean the opposite:
Ethereum is becoming strong enough that fewer L2s are needed to support it.
The next phase may not be a world of hundreds of Ethereum L2s.
It may be a smaller number of dominant networks, with Ethereum itself becoming increasingly capable of handling more of the activity.
