Love this @UVA Engineering “For Good” video of @Caliari_Lab Ph.D student Bev Miller talking about using her tissue engineering research – and her passion for making a difference – to improve women’s health care! youtu.be/plrCt-N3dKk.
My promotion to Associate Professor w/tenure is official today! I’m so grateful for the amazing students and colleagues who enable our work. I’m also very lucky to have the support of my wonderful family and friends on this journey. I’m looking forward to the next chapter at UVA!
Check out @BiomaterialsBev’s paper with Dr. Monique Vaughan on the development of a new animal model for surgical treatment of pelvic organ prolapse! And stay tuned for future work on how hydrogels can be deployed in this model to augment repair! jove.com/video/64311
Congratulations to James and @leilaniastrab for passing their qualifying exams!
Finally, congrats to Ivan Basurto on his successful PhD defense! Ivan spearheaded our group’s efforts in skeletal muscle tissue engineering and leaves behind an impressive and impactful body of work. He will be joining Anika Therapeutics next month.
Also, big congratulations to four amazing undergraduates on their graduations. Excited to see what Abby (PhD student CU Boulder), Audrey (PhD student Notre Dame), Emily (Booz Allen Hamilton), and Gregg (Emerson Electric) accomplish in the future!
Sending out belated congratulations to our first PhD graduate @helloericahui, who defended in October but was finally hooded last month!
