Performative reading as a concept is so funny. Anyone who is a real reader knows there are never enough hours in the day to read (especially as an adult) so yeah fitting in reading in public and during lunch breaks and on the train is pretty normal actually.

I get it when an American says “they can never eat rice and beef all day” when complaining about a ‘gym diet’, but you cannot be from a ‘how to make rice is 2000 different ways’ culture and want me to buy this when you say it. 😂

During the heinous discourse, I found this post from the public defenders subreddit. This was on a post asking for tips on how to cross examine little kids who were sexually abused These lawyers are pure evil. They’re going beyond their duty to uphold basic civil liberties

I just realized that when these lawyers brag about getting abuser's acquitted / off with light sentences and their posts go viral, it gets them more clients ... they're making a profit while not actually giving a fuck about justice. This is so disgusting.

I once got an acquittal for a guy who grabbed his wife by the hair, slapped her, and then fired a revolver next to her head… and then threw her out of the trailer and fired another round in the air outside of the trailer… because he was trying to watch the Super Bowl and she wouldn’t stop nagging him. I tried the case because there was no plea deal even offered. Two felonies, both with mandatory 10 years and no parole. Nothing to lose… After the wife testified at trial, being particularly nasty to me on cross examination, the jury apparently sympathized with my client, who had been married to her for decades, and just like that… set him free. Even the judge couldn’t believe it. That trailer is still sitting there - now abandoned - on the side of US 219 and you can still see the bullet hole in the wall.

Mornin Kaufy is my favourite running influencer, and I love that he pushes back on running = injuries. Runners under eat and make it everyone else’s problem. Running is not why you don’t have your period or get stress fractures every other business day, not eating is. 🙄

“But I’m not losing weight, this is my maintenance!” Play with upping your calories. Sometimes you don’t lose weight from under eating, your body just shuts/slows down some processes (immunity, rapid repair, periods etc) Keep pushing up as long as the scale doesn’t go up.

Heck, I’ll even use myself as an example. The more athletic I became, the more comfortable I became around more masculine people, and this is partly because of calculating possible risk.

To be brutally honest, BioWare might've saved themselves if they were in active production on Mass Effect. Still doing pre-production after 6 years is NOT a good development cycle. Students earn their degrees in a shorter amount of time.
