People are easier to govern when their suffering is framed as a personal failure rather than a systemic problem.

“I’m old. I’ve paid my home off,” said Ray Warner, a 72-year-old Akron resident. “Why would I pay property tax?”
Across the country, homeowners are asking the same question and revolting against property taxes at a scale not seen in a half century.

YOU'RE NOT PAYING TAXES FOR THE PROPERTY, YOU'RE PAYING YOUR TOWN FOR THE SERVICES IT PROVIDES. THE ROADS, POLICE, SCHOOLS, FIRE DEPARTMENT, LIBRARY, SNOW PLOWS, EMERGENCY SERVICES AND SO MUCH MORE.

What Democrats like this don’t understand is that they could be spending energy on organizing for proportional representation and ranked choice instead of telling ppl they aren’t allowed to run in an election
Big 12 refs baby!
Big 12 statement:
"Following the Big 12’s review of the final play of Saturday’s Notre Dame-BYU game, it was determined that time remained on the clock when the ball hit the ground and the play was incorrectly cleared by the replay officiating crew. The Conference will conduct a complete review of its end-of-game officiating process in advance of next week's games."

I haven’t watched The Dropout but I did listen to the podcast. I don’t remember the podcast mentioning that. Nathan does hit Billy with “does Liz stand up for herself in a lot of relationships?” At one point and that’s where I found Liz becoming a more interesting subject (3/6)
I think the movie does have a lot to say about truth and perception. But I want to dig into Elizabeth “Liz” Holmes for a minute. For me the movie really took a turn when Liz’s father told Nathan “I can tell you exactly when everything changed and that’s when she was raped” (2/6)
