Coming back to this because I know the discourse around it was dogshit because boruto fans refuse to be normal about any criticism if you aren't glazing ikemoto but genuinely might be in contention for the most pointless plot device I've ever seen.
Now he doesn't even seem to acknowledge that code exists and I'd argue that code's dynamic with boruto doesn't even feel like its someone who has beef with kawaki but with boruto pre omnipotence, which in turn makes the swap unnecessary and hold no narrative weight.
