ALT Light to moderate rain and mountain snow will affect the area through Thursday evening. Around 0.25-0.75 inch of rain is likely for most areas, with a low chance of higher amounts of 1-2 inches, especially over the foothills and mountains. There is a 15-30 percent chance of thunderstorms, with heavy downpours, gusty winds and hail showers possible near any storm. 4 to 8 inches of snow will be possible above 6500 feet, with lower amounts down to 4500 feet. There is a 40-50 percent chance of a dusting of snow possible on the Grapevine. Unsettled weather will linger into Thursday with additional light rain and snow showers over interior sections.

ALT A storm system will bring rain chances to the area from northwest to south starting Sunday of this weekend. Expecting to see much higher totals over northwestern San Luis Obispo County, and light accumulations for Ventura and LA County. No significant impacts are expected from this rain over the majority of the region. However, minor road and creek flooding is possible for northern areas that see higher totals.

ALT There is a 20% chance for afternoon to evening thunderstorms over the mountains of Ventura and LA Counties through Friday. An upper level low brings more showers and thunderstorms to the region for the weekend. Any thunderstorms that form could produce brief heavy rain, strong, gusty, and erratic winds, dangerous lightning, and small hail. Stay informed. Monitor the latest forecast. When thunder roars, go indoors! Plan outdoor activities earlier in the day before storms develop. Never drive across flooded roadways.
