Straight from the mouth of the great Dan Patrick @dpshow - "Minor League Baseball is awesome" @MiLB #bestbargaininallofsports
The Cal League is announcing that League President, Charlie Blaney, is retiring as President of the League.
Blaney has spent more than 5 decades in baseball. 32 of those years were with @Dodgers and has been Cal League President for the past eleven years.
Prior to his Cal League Presidency, Blaney served 32 years in the Los Angeles Dodgers Organization as a Minor League General Manager, Managing Director of the Dodgers' former Spring Training Facility known as Dodgertown, and as the Dodgers' Vice President of Player Development.
During the time he was Dodgers' VP of Player Development, Blaney oversaw the Dodgers' coaching staff that was instrumental in developing a record 5 consecutive NL Rookies of the Year from 1992-1996: Eric Karros, Mike Piazza, Raul Mondesi, Hideo Nomo, and Todd Hollandsworth.

The dust is settling & the 2021 @CalLeague1 season is coming into focus. We bid a heartfelt goodbye to the @JetHawks after 24 seasons & welcome the @FresnoGrizzlies. Fresno had an entry in the Cal League from 1941-1988. Next week I will highlight Lancaster & Fresno history! #MiLB
The @JetHawks have been an incredible member of the Cal League. The facility is first rate and the staff is unbelievably caring and hard working. We will miss the JetHawks and their amazing fans in the Cal League. This decision by MLB is certainly heartbreaking.

79 years ago today was the 1st @CalLeague1 All-Star Game. This 1941 matchup was between the Fresno Cardinals (1st half leaders) & the fan voted All-Stars of the remaining 5 teams. The All-Stars came out on top 9-6 in front of 3,219 fans. #CalLeagueHistory #MiLB #CaliforniaLeague
It's a sad day in the Cal League as minor league baseball has been canceled this season. While it was heartbreaking to hear, our teams remain dedicated to serving the community even without baseball. Stay healthy and safe.
Congrats @Storm_Baseball - way to go! The Diamond is and always has been one of the best.
