An "award winning business journalist" who's never heard the concept of higher income households having a higher savings ratio than lower income households. You really did just used to be able to walk into any career back in the day.
This is probably the stupidest thing I’ve read on here so far today and that is quite a high bar.

The Queen's Nose being ranked above Dick and Dom is classist and I won't be elaborating further

As someone with absolutely no skin in the game who sees the merits of both bands and think they're both good in their own way, this discourse is very, very funny.
hahahha fontaines genuinely have more good albums than oasis 😭😭

They're forgetting that aitch is better than all of these acts combined again
Can you imagine being the city that produced The Fall, The Smiths and Joy Division and somehow fucking *Oasis* become the thing you’re most known for

One thing we've lost with kids watching all of their programmes through streaming services rather than normal telly and therefore repeats of programmes from years ago is this thread of references to things before their own time
This is a good example of how Looney Tunes was taken for granted as common cultural knowledge 40 years ago. It's not even a reference to Bugs Bunny, it's One Froggy Evening - they trusted you'd watched enough Looney Tunes as a kid to have seen One Froggy Evening a few times.

All of the old looney tunes and tom and jerry cartoons were already 60 years old and still being played on telly in the early 2000s. Think even the original scooby doo cartoons would have been ~30 years old at that point. Mental to consider really

Why do people think that revealing these things about reform politicians will somehow upset their voter base ? Who are the reform voters who they think would be upset by this ?
🚨 NEW: An ITV undercover investigation into Reform UK has revealed councillors describing Muslims as “parasites” and ethnic children as “animals” One councillor was shown saying “we need a real nuclear option, like literally, drag them out their homes, stick them on planes and f*** them off to Pakistan”

Not to say he isnt right, and not to say I dont love the beatles, but quite a fair portion of the beatles early stuff was the 60s equivalent of the stuff he's describing.

I know the Wayan's didnt contribute to SM3 directly but they get thoee filme going and I dont think it's mentioned a lot how influential they were in bringing back silly Airplane type gag comedy to audiences at that time This bit with the leaves in dont be a menace always got me
In Scary Movie 3 (2003), the sheriff’s hat gets bigger with every cut. It’s one of the dumbest visual gags ever put on screen, which is exactly why it never stops being funny.

This is the thing they'll never truly understand, supporting your local club isnt a choice. Its a tradition that for a lot people has been a part of their family for literally generations. But yeah thats equal to you "liking someone's plays style"
Replying to @CadWMC
You chose to support a team who was close to you. I chose to support a team whose playstyle I liked watching, irrespective of the results on the pitch. Neither choice is morally superior

Actually supporting a club at the heart of your own community and the local businesses around it by putting your actual feet on the ground *is* morally superior than vicariously consuming something "better" through the TV at the expense of your own community

Twitter being twitter i dont know if this means she's good on the gameshow, or if its a criticism of her financial success leading her to abandon her proletariat roots.

The thing that annoys me most about fans from other countries is when you ask them why they dont go and watch their local team and they scoff and say the league is shit / no one in that country watches a local side etc.
I love that accounts like this fail to acknowledge that the English Football League has existed for 138 years, long before international fans began caring about the sport on these shores. Football will never crumble in this country, regardless of interest from abroad.

Thereby acknowledging that there is some sort of collective effort that goes into supporting a local side, and establishing a fan base and culture over decades, or in England/Scotland's case centuries. And then they'll turn around and say "yeah but I have to wake up at 4 am"

I'm not arsed about it to a great extent, each to their own & I have an affection for a few foreign clubs myself, but i could never imagine feeling anything like the connection I feel to Barnsley for any other club, and I always just want them to know how much theyre missing out
