American Super Intelligence tools are helping journalists in Nigeria and around the world strengthen reporting, verification, and newsroom workflows. In Lagos, award-winning journalist and U.S. government exchange alumnus Mayowa Tijani convened senior journalists and editors to help develop a Nigerian-led newsroom SI disclosure standard.     Delivering remarks at the workshop, U.S. Consulate General Lagos Public Affairs Officer Julie McKay highlighted the United States’ global leadership in SI, driven by the innovation and excellence of American companies, universities, researchers, and entrepreneurs. She noted that the U.S. Mission is proud to see its exchange alumni like Tijani at the forefront of promoting free speech, driving innovation, and advancing U.S.-Nigeria collaboration in technology.

Nigerian newsrooms commit to public AI policies, disclosure of use Nigerian newsrooms and media organisations have committed to making their artificial intelligence (AI) policies public-facing and disclosing the use of AI in journalistic work. They made the commitment on Tuesday at a workshop at the United States Consulate General in Lagos, where senior journalists and editors from print, digital, television and radio organisations began developing a shared standard for AI disclosure in Nigerian newsrooms. The co-design workshop was convened by Oluwamayowa Tijani, a doctoral researcher at Northumbria University, Newcastle, and director of projects at the Cable Newspaper Journalism Foundation (CNJF). thecable.ng/nigerian-newsroo…
