"It doesn't look like a pokemon" well too bad, its now part of the visual library of pokemon, any visual trait derived from it into a future design will turn said design into "what a pokemon looks like" and "what a pokemon is" as a concept will only expand with time

Also, an addendum to this. Matt Mercer, Brennan Lee Mulligan, Aabria Iyengar et al. are very good GMs but by no means exceptional. They are amazing performers however, and people confuse good performance with good GMing. Learning the difference will make you a better GM
