Governor Healey found $30,000 in rental assistance for migrants, covered their broker fees, paid their security deposits, and threw in furniture and landlord bonuses. Her HomeBASE program has exploded 900% since she took office, from $9.5 million to $97 million. She can’t find a gas tax suspension, an income tax cut, or a single dollar of electric bill relief for us. We can’t afford rent. We can’t afford to buy a home. We can barely afford everyday life here in Massachusetts. And our tax dollars are funding everyone else’s necessities. We deserve to be the priority.
