#PassedOut ‘I can’t remember what she was on, I wish I remember so that I could tell you’
HMRC has announced that hirers need only apply the off-payroll working rules to payments for services made after 6th April, that doesn’t mean the same as for contracts starting after that date.

@telegraph This report ‘HMRC softens tax rule changes for freelancers following 'contractor chaos'’ is wrong - the rules apply to payments made after the rules come into force, not servcies provided.
Wishful thinking by freelance journalists perhaps?

@BritishGas Guilty of False Advertising!!! I have had homecare cover for years, £60 excess and it’s ten days until an engineer can carry out a repair. Boiler needs to be repressurised every hour. Solution-here’s £199 to pay someone else to do it, but that will nullify your cover!

Day 65 - Failed promises, £17,000 done and this is where I’m at. Party on Saturday, garden ruined and instead of baking cakes, tonight I’m unibonding the floor and will have to hide the unfinished floor with Lino. #Everest Fit the best? Best avoid.
Day 55 since Everest came to fit a conservatory, actually more of a lean to. Since the base was done in May, this has been my garden for the last two months, every few weeks someone turns up, potters around then goes. I believed the ‘Fit the Best’ adverts...not anymore.
Concerned whether your umbrella company has involved you in a tax avoidance scheme? Check your pay statement and then understand how all umbrella companies reduce your basic rate of pay. #umbrella #DOTAS #HMRC #tax #NHS #socialworkers #locumdoctors
#umbrella-companies generally deduct an amount equal to the employer NI contribution, the deduction should be no more than listed here.
