Certainly the most surprising result in my career so far: a new qLDPC decoder that I thought had no chance to work!
We call it the Frontier decoder, joint work with Rüdiger Urbanke (1/4)

Blog post: "The French have the Quantum Circuits" algassert.com/post/2602
André Schrottenloher just published a preprint showing how to construct quantum ECDLP circuits with costs similar to the ones in our zero knowledge proofs.

Quantum's CEO @ivanmiskovic sat with @Alice__Bob's QEC lead @CVuillot on cat qubits, biased noise, and breaking RSA with 200x fewer qubits.
Congratulations to Alice & Bob on NVIDIA NVentures-backed extension of their €100 million Series B.

Our paper is now published in PRX! 🎉
It’s been a really fun and productive collaboration unifying different aspects of bosonic coding in one framework.
Many thanks to my collaborators Yixu Wang (Tsinghua → SIMIS), @CVuillot (Inria), and @victorvalbert (Maryland)!

Our boldest photography project yet!
From Above & Below, a mission to photograph the same subjects from Earth and space with National Geographic photographer, Babak Tafreshi.
@BabakTafreshi traveled the world while I orbited around it, and together we created this perspective.

Probably the last paper of my PhD! We show that biased-noise qubits can greatly reduce the cost of magic state preparation
With high noise bias, just 53 qubits and ~10 error correction cycles are enough to prepare a magic state with logical error≈1e-7

Congratulations, Jeongwan Haah, recipient of the New Horizons in Physics Prize "for the discovery of Haah's code, in which fractal conservation laws emerge, and other models bringing discrete mathematical structures to physics"!

2 talks of @Alice__Bob QEC team in parallel this morning:
@Ruiz_Diego1 presented his new results on distillation with biased-noise: with bias=30 he already gets 150x reduction!
I talked about implementing rotor codes
So many subjects to work on, join our team we are hiring!🐱
I'll be at the @APSphysics March Meeting next week in Anaheim.
I have a talk on Friday about quantum rotor codes, protected superconducting qubits and tiger codes in the advances in quantum error correction session.
Also come talk to me whenever!

We have just raised €100M! 💰🔥🥳😎⚡
Our Series B round was led by the amazing teams at Future French Champions, AVP, and @Bpifrance. 🙌 Huge thanks to our existing investors: @BreegaVC , @Elaia_Partners , and Supernova invest your unwavering belief in our vision! 🙏
Alice & Bob is about to trace the future of quantum computing. 🧠 This new funding will allow us to build our fourth and largest location to date, a 4,000m² research and production facility in Paris. An ambitious plan for our ambitious roadmap: bring to life the first useful quantum computer, Graphene. 🤝
Curious about what’s next? Check out our roadmap to 2030: alice-bob.com/roadmap/💡
So, what is so special about Alice & Bob’s technology? Thanks to our cat qubits, we will need “only” thousands of qubits where others would need millions. The cat qubit doesn’t just reduce the hardware requirements to build useful quantum computers, it makes them possible in an economically viable way. 🤓
And now - it’s time to turn quantum computers from cool science projects into practical tools that can change the world! ⚡🤠

Great set of Paul Bernays lectures by Michel Devoret (@ucsantabarbara @GoogleQuantumAI - previously at @Yale_QI @Yale) at @ETH #Zurich this week.
You will be able to listen to the recorded lectures some time soon by following this link: math.ethz.ch/news-and-events… .
It was great to discuss with Michel and show him around at the labs.
Thanks for the visit!

1/5 Excited to share our latest work where we introduce a new phase of matter - the Topological Quantum Spin Glass (TQSG). It combines features of spin glass order and topological order in a fundamentally new way.
