🌀 Why do some aneurysms occlude quickly after flow diversion despite persistent high-speed flow?
This JNIS study suggests that aneurysm occlusion is not driven by flow reduction alone.
In fast-occluding aneurysms, progressive fibrin accumulation across the flow diverter disrupted the inflow jet, increased neck coverage, and substantially reduced intra-aneurysmal velocity.
A fascinating look at the biology and hemodynamics behind successful flow diversion.

If this is not #Evolution of neurosurgery, I don't know what it is. Thank you Dr. @EladLevyMD for once again leading the pack! @CNSResidents @CNS_Update @cvsection
What does the next frontier of neurosurgery look like?
Increasingly, it is outpatient.
At #CNS2026, join @EladLevyMD and leaders in the field for a symposium on the future of outpatient neurosurgery—exploring procedure selection, safety, technology, research, and sustainable practice models.
The shift to ambulatory care is already underway. Help shape what comes next.

The best surgical bypasses mimic nature’s design, like anterior & posterior communicating arteries in the circle of Willis, drawing flow on demand. Arteries that run parallel and in close proximity can be joined w/ side-to-side anastomosis to create an intracranial-to-intracranial bypass, like this A3-A3 construct…#SevenBypasses

Can we predict how a flow diverter will actually deploy before we deploy it? 🧠💻
In a real-world simulation-guided workflow, Ankyras closely predicted PED:
🎯 Deployed length: MAE 1.24 mm
📍 Proximal landing zone: MAE 1.34 mm
📈 Strong correlations: r=0.91 and 0.94
Virtual planning may be moving closer to real-world deployment.
