10/19/1990, former Franklin Academy standout Tom Browning pitches six innings as the Cincinnati Reds down the Oakland A's 8-3 in game 3 of the World Series. Browning is the lone CVBL alum to reach the majors. Browning recorded a 5-1 record for the Ellenburg Eagles in 1979.

The 1982 Peru/Ormsby's Well Drillers completed a perfect season going 14-0 in the regular season and sweeping four playoff games on their way to the CVBL crown. Larry Ewald was named Most Valuable Player, Marty Collins Most Valuable Pitcher & Gary Barber Playoff MVP.

Former CVBL standout Jack Leggett was inducted into the Clemson Ring of Honor Saturday. Leggett recorded a 955-480-1 record at Clemson in 22 seasons. In the CVBL, Leggett played for the Burlington Expos in the 1978 and 1979 seasons. The Expos claimed back-to-back CVBL titles.

September 24 1988 – John Flynn (Plattsburgh Cardinals) was selected as the Most Valuable Pitcher of the Regular Season and Playoffs at the CVBL Banquet. Flynn went 10-0 with a 1.70 era and 100 strikeouts in 77 innings during the regular season, then went 5-1 in the playoffs.
