E Day story finished, pretty good, final boss fight was a bit underwhelming compared to the other bosses, fantastic voice work all across the board, Mags and Lucas were good companions. Too much "dom/marcus are gonne die" story fakeouts when we obvs know that's not true
Spoiler:
They kept "alluding" to killing off the new companions, but because the campaign is built for 4 player co-op and it never let us swap who the last 2 characters are it kinda ruined a bit of the suspension of disbelief that they could die
Multiplayer is good fun gears, although (this is an INCREDIBLY personal reason) i'm just getting my "3rd person shooter" fix from Deadlock so i have a hard time justifying booting up MP.
I think with tuco going away and tokon dying even faster than tuco its just deadlock time now and forever, i just wanna play air dashers but they keep killing modern airdashers
I don't think a single crossover in this game has ever looked good, but then again i always thought the character models in Apex looked horrific, literally only Akuma looks good lol
Does casual match in tokon have like 0 mmr, i wanna try new characters so i use casual but then everyone i play is like doing auto combos lol. I feel bad i don't want to fight timmy two shoes who likes spooderman
Tokon is a very frustrating game, combos are very fun, but neutral just feels like a somehow even clunkier version of DBFZ neutral. Can tell it's gonna be a rough ride cause it's a game where wins feel relieving rather than satisfying, and very often hits come from tech scrambles
It still has insanely bad input issues, the worst I've seen in any modern FG. And it feels right now that how good your team is boils down to "can i create enough visual clutter to do my characters baked in high low special move"
People yelling at each other has never been fun to me, idk why so much entertainment online derives from watching ppl rage in video games. 32 years of my life and not once did i think my hobby was better because someone was screaming at me/my friends/randoms online
more #tokon input jank, if you 2h the opponent at certain heights, the auto follow jump you can do by pressing up blocks your inputs for no reason, in order to get inputs to come out, you have to manually super jump.
I love watching people go through what i went through like 7 years ago when it comes to modern fighting game releases. I don't blame them but I promise you'll be in your mid 30's sooner than you think and stop giving a shit and just play whatever.
Just added a search option to the Combo feed! You can now sift through aggregated twitter and bluesky tech for the term you're looking for!
If you didn't know that was a thing, we have, now you do! comboforge.gg/feed
