School day and school year are both two words for any day or year that school is in session, either virtually or in person.
Schoolwork and schoolteacher are each one word, no hyphen. However, terms such as grade school teacher or high school teacher are styled as separate words.
It's been a dream of mine to get a story like this into mainstream news outlets across the country. @ByMoriah answers the question every parent of toddlers and preschoolers asks: What should I look for in a high-quality preschool or child care center? apnews.com/article/best-pres…

Hyphenate back-to-school as a compound modifier: back-to-school supplies, back-to-school clothes, back-to-school time.
But no hyphen is needed when it's used as a freestanding phrase: She went back to school.

Thank you @NABJ for this incredible honor for my From Birth to Death project, which examined how health inequities have impacted generations of Black Americans. This award is so special because NABJ honors work that centers Black communities. That was my goal & dream of this.
