School is back in session, please be vigilant in and around school zones. No u-turns in school zones, no stopping or parking in bus lanes, keep speed at a low and be patient. Watch for pedestrians darting in and out.

Should talk about trailer safety and hook up. Seeing way too many trailers hooked up improperly. Top thing we are seeing and most importantly is the break away cable is not hooked up or it's damaged. It is there to engage the brakes if your trailer unhooks from your vehicle.
The chains should be crossed like a cradle and hooked to the hitch frame. The break away cable should not be attached to the chains, again it should be attached to the hitch frame. Don't overload your trailer, it's clear to see if it is, it will look like a drift car.
Please check your trailer over, if your tires are cracked and worn, replace them and lastly make sure all your lights work! Oh and please check your registration. Be safe out there when hauling! @SGItweets @reginapolice @RCMPSK
Since we have had a few tornados rip through the 306 already, should probably talk about encountering a tornado in a vehicle.
Don't try to out run it. Don't park under structures like bridges unless you absolutely have to.
National websites say that if it is close to you then try to find a low area like a ditch, something lower than the road abandon your vehicle and take cover.
If you can't abandon your car and as a last resort keep your seatbelt on, lower your head lower than the windows and cover yourself with a blanket or jacket. Lots of info out there, doesn't hurt to read up on it. Stay educated and stay safe. @SGItweets @reginapolice
Gentle reminder that u-turns are illegal at intersections controlled by lights in Sask. Intersections that actually have signs are there because it's a high collision intersection and they are there to make people more aware. @SGItweets @reginapolice
RPS partnered up with the Saskatchewan Roughriders for positive ticketing this week. We were to look for motorists, cyclists and pedestrians who were exhibiting safe behaviors while both on and off the road.
Last night I gave away tickets for today's game to a couple who stopped for a pedestrian at a cross walk when no one else did.
And on 2 separate stops motorcycle riders who had their plates visible, placards on and all their gear on. Go riders!

It's May long weekend, gentle reminder to register your camper and boat trailers, seeing way too many unregistered the last few days. It's a $175 fine. Remember if you are on continous you still have to answer the declaration questions, yearly.
