Maybe I’m too bad to understand but I don’t get why people are upset at this change.
This is REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS.
Where only the best can come and determine who’s is the best at Riftbound (regionally)
Why did we want a Mickey Mouse tourney where gonna see 80 ahris mostly all colluding and 50 Akalis with some collusion. And 7 garens.
Best ON best ofs brain washed people imo for a quick cash grab instead of having a real competitive drive to be the best at a tournament like this one.
I much prefer seeing the best players play what they think are the best decks are at a Championship level tournament.

I guess I just disagree with a lot of people on the RC changes today.
I REALLY like that they've all but killed any incentive to not try and win the event. This is not an RQ, this is the qualification to find the 24 best players in the world to compete on the world stage. We should want RCs to be the best players all trying to win and not have 20% of the event being an Ahri cabal. There were real possibilities people ended day 1 at 6-0 and played only 1-2 real matches of riftbound that day.
I do agree this was way too late to announce this but better late than never. I like that they found a way for the RC to stay competitive focused and still have ridiculously good prizing.
Please don't change RQ prizing, chasing best ofs is great for 2k+ person open events.

After speaking with his opponent, the event staff at RQ LA, and Koko, we believed his disqualification was a one-off misunderstanding. Koko maintained that he was innocent of the accusations against him. Clips shared today from multiple matches show otherwise, and Koko has now made a statement to us admitting culpability. We do not tolerate cheating. We're sorry to the players he faced and those who stood up for him. ChallengerTCG is committed to competing at the highest level with integrity and we thank you for your support.

Everyone should probably be a lot more chill about DQs.
It is not uncommon to DQ someone based on firm suspicion/harm minimisation.
Trust me, if someone is DQed for something insanely malicious (aka what Twitter thinks every DQ) is - that person will likely be banned hella.
I was DQ'd at RQ LA for lying to a judge, not for deck manipulation.
A floor judge said they saw me pile shuffle my runes vs my rengar opp in round 2. At the start of round 3 I presented my runes for cut without shuffling them at all, which was just careless. When a judge asked if I'd shuffled them, I said no and started to, and he told me to stop.
The judges asked if I knew pile shuffling alone isn't enough for the rune deck. I explained to them I genuinely did not. Because of my experience with this game and other card games, they didn't believe me and ruled that I'd lied to them.
I also understand that judges have an incredibly difficult job and have to make decisions based on the information in front of them. I put myself in a situation where they had to make that decision because I was sloppy with something I should have been much more careful about.
I don't agree that I lied, but I accept the DQ.
I didn't stack my runes. I was careless with the randomization of my rune deck, and that's on me.

2) He explained his mindset and the parties involved without finger-pointing
3) He accepted the result with integrity
4) He waited a week so emotions could simmer

I felt really good about my deck after getting the best of Irelia in Houston last week. Unfortunately, after a strong start I lost 3 win and ins for day 2. Felt like I was just drawing the wrong half of my deck for a few rounds there.
On the bright side, I did slam some 2v2s with my boy @koko_lopez_ where we went 5-1 for some more metals 👌
Yeah, this should just be unacceptable at this point. Do better @CoolStuffInc. It doesn't have to be fancy or even be casted but you can absolutely find a way to point a camera at a table and stream a match.

We understand the frustration from players and the community about this weekend’s event not being streamed. We originally had a company scheduled to come in and handle the stream, but unfortunately, that fell through at the last minute.
Rather than putting out a production that we felt wasn’t up to the quality we wanted, we made the decision not to stream the event.
However, the players have spoken, and we’ve heard you loud and clear.
We WILL be streaming Sunday’s rounds and the Top 16.
We want to set expectations that it won’t be the same production quality we originally planned, but we’re going to work with what we have and do everything we can to get the matches live for everyone who wants to watch.
Thank you for the feedback, the patience, and most importantly, for caring enough about the event to let us know what you want to see.
