@PeteButtigieg has been traveling the country campaigning for Democrats who share a common goal: a future without the chaos and hardships the Trump administration has caused. I appreciate him taking the time to speak with Michiganders about what’s at stake and what comes next.

The post was good but the comments are even better.
I was a teacher before law school. I couldn’t convince teenagers to wear deodorant. The idea that teachers are convincing kids that they should get sex changes is utterly ludicrous.

This morning I joined Congressional leaders in meeting with President @ZelenskyyUA to discuss the urgent need for the US to end restrictions on Starlink and fully restore intelligence sharing to save Ukrainian lives from Russian strikes. By restricting these tools, the Trump Administration isn't just leaving Ukrainians out to dry, it's also endangering American diplomats and servicemembers stationed at our US Embassy in Kyiv. We must stand up to Vladimir Putin, and protect our people, and our Ukrainian allies.
Thank you, @SenBlumenthal and @SenThomTillis, for the opportunity to meet with you and your colleagues from both parties and both chambers of Congress. I informed them about Russia’s brutal “shahed” drone attack in the Kharkiv region, where Russia killed six people, including a mother and her child, who was just over a year old. I showed the horrifying photos from the scene – a child killed in a stroller… This is how Russia responds to sanctions waivers and reduced pressure. I also explained where things stand with intelligence sharing and Starlink operations in Ukraine. Unfortunately, we received no early warning from our partners about the first wave of the Russian ballistic missile attack last night. And we still face speed restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services in different parts of the front. No explanation for either of these issues has been provided to Ukraine by the American side. Our teams will follow up on everything discussed today. I thank everybody who participated in this call for their strong support.

not satisfied about lying to the American public for years about the Iraq War, Ari is now willfully lying about what Senator Slotkin said in this clip. he is now financially incentivized to be a MAGA grifter — a true, career lowlife
Normally, politicians encourage young people to enter public service. Sen. Elissa Slotkin D-MI) is not normal. Here she threatens to ruin young people who might want to work for Trump. This type of thinking is terrible for our country.

Sens. Blumenthal and Tillis just organized a bipartisan call with Zelenskyy In a statement they say - "President Zelenskyy confirmed that critical Starlink services remain degraded" - "He also reported disruptions to U.S. intelligence sharing concerning early warning of Russian ballistic missile launches. As a result of these disruptions, civilians – children – are dying. He also raised serious concerns about delays in critical air defense interceptors and the Administration’s decision to waive powerful sanctions against Russia" - “President Zelenskyy reiterated his willingness to halt strikes on Russian energy facilities as President Trump has proposed, but only if Putin agrees to the same – a fair request.”

"After weighing these factors, Paulk has decided for the first time in his life to cast a ballot for a Democrat -- incumbent Sen. Jon Ossoff. He doesn't agree with the Democrats on all issues -- notably, abortion -- but it's Ossoff's help in getting federal aid after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc on Paulk's grape crop that won his vote"

Great, great data. I also a hunch that having 3 kids was becoming a new status symbol for the 1% in the 2020s. Not quite. It's more that 3-kid families among every other non-rich percentile has declined by double-digit percentage points while the 1% held steady. So having 3 kids went from being fairly common across the board to a luxury good that, increasingly, only the 1% can afford.
Replying to @mtkonczal
Is this a new status symbol? I don't think so. It looks more like children fall for all families except the 1% over the past 30 years. Maybe the things that made children more difficult for the 99% just bounced right off the 1%? /2

In a country with 330 million people and only two political parties, you need to be able to cooperate with people who you don’t agree with about everything which is hard if one faction insists all disagreement is a form of corruption.

Look, the President has been an open enemy of the Constitutional order for a long time. People on the Right tolerated that because he was somehow perceived as America first. But, he's clearly not even that. He's ok with Russia only helping murder a few Americans – at Arlington, VA
Even when he both-sides it, he can’t help himself. “Russia is doing very little, if anything, to help the Islamic Republic of Iran, compared to what they could be doing, and I want to keep it that way, and will, unless stupid people get in the way.” Not even a hint of reproval for the aid Russia HAS given Iran. Just a shrug of, “It could be worse — if i don’t get my way”! Disgusting.

Completing a full marathon just 16 days before her own gubernatorial election is so beast mode.
Democratic nominee for Michigan governor Jocelyn Benson hugs her son and husband after finishing the Detroit Free Press marathon Sunday in just over four hours. Benson, 48, says this is her 40th marathon. Her campaign launch video last year featured her running through Detroit.

Having failed to win on battlefield, #Russia's military is now focusing its attacks on #Ukraine's cities and civilians. And Trump is aligning US on side with Russia. Deplorable.
The potential goals of the Russian campaign, according to the document seen by the Guardian, go from “degrading [Ukrainians’] quality of life” to fully shutting off water supply, causing the “deterioration of sanitary conditions and the forced outflow of residents from cities.”
