A 'community safety event' is being held tomorrow night at a housing facility in Centretown. It's deeply disturbing and confusing that the ANCHOR program, touted as a police alternative, is now co-hosting safety sessions with the OPS and Crime Stoppers. /1

I address this often in my remarks, and I always offer some words by Mariame Kaba. 1. Let this radicalize you rather than lead you to despair. It's ok to feel overwhelmed. Don't stay there. 2. You can do something other than turn away. No matter how small, do that thing.
