#Berlin2019 #RBLFCB

Great course. I went on it a couple of years ago to supplement the crowd dynamics module of my BA.
We've announced our next @SafeEventsIE Intro to Crowd Safety & Risk Analysis course with @GKStill and it's happening next month in Dublin. Check out feedback on the course here youtube.com/watch?v=7woAsqhl… and you can register here safeevents.ie/courses #crowdsafety #eventsafety

#ICSS #Security Ops Team observes the crowd management in the South Stand at HK 7s. This section is allocated purely for the enjoyment of the fans and things can be a little crazy. Won’t work in all sports but works in HK & is embraced as pure fan engagement. ⁦@The_ICSS⁩

Coincidental timing that this tweet was scheduled for this evening, given conversations ongoing about numbers at the #peoplesmarch
Crowd counting for #events is a fascinating area of what we do. Most people who do it have a vested interest though. . . ow.ly/kUkD30lagEe #crowdsafety

There does seem to have been some confusion / misunderstanding alright. Well, among those who didn't do the count, at least. I wasn't involved myself but would believe the @GKStill & co. number to be much closer to accurate than the organisers' (w/ vested interest) quoted figure.
Yes, that is the assumption I made. If there is no evidence of outbound follow as I assumed there would be then I will amend the article and retract my claims. My apologies to @GKStill. Worth amending the wired article to make clear IMHO, as many readers made the same assumption.

The issue with the thrust of that article on Reasonably Prepared is that there is no demonstrable flow out of the system. Flow in is observable. Flow out is not, especially at a rate to be of any mathematical significance to a count w/in acceptable margin of error.

Politics and agendas aside - crowd science has showed that the anti-Brexit protest was one of the biggest in UK history, but it wasn't a million people. It was between 300,000 and 600,000... wired.co.uk/article/brexit-m…

No, there weren't a million people at the #PutItToThePeople march on Saturday. But crowd scientists, who counted the real numbers, say it was "among the biggest". My latest for @WiredUK wired.co.uk/article/brexit-m…
