Schools are not the place for geopolitics 🤡
More pupils in the UK and Ukraine are set to benefit from reading for pleasure! Earlier this year, we launched our UK-Ukraine schools partnership programme, which focuses on the importance of reading. Now with a further £50,000 of government funding, 30 additional schools across the two countries are joining the initiative – standing with Ukraine and boosting reading skills through our Plan for Change. Visit the Education Hub to learn more.

It will be interesting to see how educational institutions deal with staff being banned from wearing Palestine badges whilst Ukraine badges are left untouched
🚨 NEW: The Government has accepted all 27 recommendations from the report to end antisemitism in schools and colleges 1. Recognise antisemitism as a distinct form of hatred, not just general racism 2. Strengthen political impartiality guidance, including limits on teachers wearing pro-Palestine badges 3. Establish a national hotline for school leaders dealing with antisemitism 4. Improve teaching about contemporary antisemitism and modern Jewish life 5. Teach pupils to recognise and challenge antisemitic conspiracy theories 6. Include antisemitism explicitly in school safeguarding policies 7. Train teachers to recognise and tackle antisemitism 8. Work with the Home Office and the Prevent programme to help schools identify when antisemitism may be linked to radicalisation 9. Encourage schools to adopt the IHRA working definition of antisemitism 10. Improve procedures for reporting antisemitic incidents, including signposting 11. Ensure antisemitic bullying and complaints are investigated and acted on consistently 12. Make clear in staff conduct policies that antisemitism is unacceptable 13. Strengthen Holocaust education, including antisemitism's role in the Holocaust, and encourage schools to mark Holocaust Memorial Day 14. Create more opportunities for pupils to engage with Jewish communities, including visits to synagogues 15. Make sure Judaism and modern Jewish life are properly represented in religious education 16. Improve media literacy so pupils can also identify online antisemitism 17. Provide better resources for teaching the Israel-Palestine conflict fairly and sensitively 18. Ensure schools have clear policies for dealing with antisemitism involving external speakers 19. Ensure education unions have clear antisemitism policies 20. Establish a dedicated support service to help schools, colleges and councils deal with antisemitism 21. Use some of the Government's security funding to help Jewish schools and colleges undertake educational visits safely 22. Run a campaign to tackle antisemitic behaviour at transport hubs near Jewish schools and colleges 23. Provide Jewish school and college leaders with mentoring and more security advice 24. Strengthen accountability for schools that fail to deal properly with antisemitism 25. Enable Ofsted and the Independent Schools Inspectorate to assess how schools tackle antisemitism 26. Make local councils identify local patterns of antisemitism and help schools respond 27. Share effective practice and guidance between schools and colleges

Interesting position for Kevin to take after his recent takes on Israel and Zionism 🤡
By “had this war settled” he means let Putin keep the land he stole.

Went on BBC Politics Live to discuss why Zionism is a racist ideology. The anchor and all three panelists looked like they were about to cry at the end. Very weird behaviour. Join the Green Party.

Every time the BBC had a guest say ‘Israel is committing genocide’ we had the presenter on hand to say that ‘Israel denies this’ When it comes to Zionism, we see countless posh liberals paraded around to tell us how great Zionism is, we never see presenters providing ‘balance’
“[Saying] ‘Zionism is racism’ is offensive, it’s antisemitic and it’s dangerous” Broadcaster Jo Coburn says she “watched in horror” as the Green Party passed its motion on Zionism and criticises leader Zack Polanski's defence in his #BBCLauraK interview bbc.co.uk/news/live/c64gv8k2…

Can anyone remember the last time @BBCNews interviewed a Palestinian about their experience of the racism of Zionism? Having spent the last two weeks interviewing elderly Nakba survivors in Jordan, driven off their land in their teens because of their ethnicity and religion, I'd be happy to suggest some astonishingly articulate victims of Israeli racism who would be only too happy to tell their tragic stories of eviction, slaughter and dispossession. It is like reporting on the Civil Rights movement in the US and only interviewing outraged Whites @bbclaurak @bbcnickrobinson @JustinOnWeb @BBCr4today

British journalist acts surprised despite the US openly backing war criminals for decades (including this administration)… including through recent sanctions against the ICC in favour of Netanyahu. Kevin is probably surprised because US admin usually back traditional allies
JD Vance on Vladimir Putin: "He’s more soft spoken than you would necessarily expect. The American media has a particular image of him." Putin is still wanted for war crimes, crimes against humanity and genocide. What the hell is going on? huffingtonpost.co.uk/entry/d…

Is the EHRC suggesting that political parties are no longer allowed to pass motions in opposition to political ideologies?
🚨 NEW: The Equality and Human Rights Commission has written to the Green Party about its "Zionism is racism" policy to "assess its practical implications and potential impact". The watchdog said it has "received complaints alleging unlawful activity". news.sky.com/story/politics-…

Cool, so the left oppose the political ideology of Zionism. A completely rational position
As a British Jews you can both be disliked by a chunk of the further Right for being a Jew or disliked overwhelmingly by the further Left for being a Zionist.

‘Investment is separate and thats why I just had to back the City owners last week’
🚨 BREAKING: Andy Burnham says he will publish details of all his meetings with Manchester City’s owners "I think everybody should separate the investment issues because they're not the same thing"

‘Apartheid South Africa has a right to exist’
Israel has the right to exist. Unequivocally. So does Palestine. Unequivocally. The niche group disagreeing with the first point are delighting the larger group who have long rejected the second point. Not just a moral and ethical failing but a catastrophic strategic blunder.

This is what happens when the central mission of your government is protecting Zionism
NEW: Home Office stats released today reveal that arrests for “terrorist-related activity” in the year ending June 2026 were up 1,553% on last year and 94% of the arrests (3,630 of 3,867) were linked to showing support for Palestine Action.

This is incredible from Iain Dale given he refuses to admit that the ethnonationalist nature of Zionism would lead to Zionism being labelled as racist
'It's a posh word for racist, basically.' With ethnonationalism on the rise in British politics, @Sundersays gives @IainDale an unfiltered explanation on what it means.

If we take October 7 and place it alongside the tragedies inflicted upon the Palestinian people by Israel then 49 words would probably be too much
49 words in tribute to the Jews murdered on October 7. 141 words on how Israel is responsible for everything and the only answer is to hand more power, money, and authority to those who wish to destroy Israel.

Vivien Lichtenstein is not an anti-Zionist btw… just in case you misread Adam’s poorly (purposely) written post
(One of) The most bonkers thing... Vivien is a founder of Jews for Justice for Palestinians. The primary campaigning vehicle for Jews against actions of Israel for 26 years. A group primarily composed of anti-zionists. It's too extreme for her!
