There is a growing sense of confidence among local leaders, the community and security actors about the progress being made in Lamu County. The @NCTC_Kenya is building on that momentum through the formation of the Security and Community Policing Working Group (SCPWG) in the County.
The group brings different actors into one space to sustain the gains made in security, strengthen early warning and address emerging concerns before they grow.
Speaking during the engagement, the Deputy County Commissioner challenged the long-held perception that communities and the security actors cannot work together, emphasizing the need to build a strong working relationship between the two for the good of Lamu County.
