Furniture Bank - true faith in action. Thank you founder Sister Anne Schenck @CSJTO . #WorldHomelessnessDay
Today, on World Homeless Day, we want to recognize our wonderful volunteers and staff who help our clients, many of whom are transitioning out of homelessness, pick out furniture in the showroom every morning.

To give a sense of scale, this proposed private mega spa on the waterfront at Ontario Place is the size of 12 football fields, and is accompanied by a massive, public parking garage.
There is no way to put a ‘green’ spin on a waterfront destination spa of this scale. There is no planning rationale that can justify subsidizing an outsized parking structure on prime waterfront land where children should be playing instead - especially given that we are investing billions to deliver a new subway to this locatIon.
Sometimes it is better to start over than to proceed with a mistake that will last for generations.
It’s time for politicians to say no.
It’s time for planners to say no.

Deeply disappointed in the City's decision not to open warming centres 24/7. Safety for some, but not all, seems to be the message from City Hall today.
We will continue to keep the faith and do the work so that Toronto can be a city with room for all.

Thanks @CSJTO. If able, please come tomorrow to Silent Interfaith prayer vigil, 12:30-1 PM. While @JohnTory and the executive council discuss the budget, we'll be praying for the city we know is possible; one with room for all. #TOpoli @SHJNetwork @cathyacrowe @RafiInterfaith
People shouldn't have to wait until 7 PM to find warmth and shelter in #Toronto. Please consider signing the @StoneSoupNet petition calling on @JohnTory and @CityofToronto to open warming centres for all hours of every day of winter.
