On 215 acres, we reduced the risk of wildfire to several communities in the Taylor River Watershed from 2 angles: Removing ladder fuels on public USFS lands and creating defensible space near homes (see photos) thanks to funds from @NationalForests. 📷CSFS #NFFGranteesAreGreat

We talk a lot about creating #Defensiblespace because it works! Low-cost, simple tasks can reduce the risk of wildfire to your home, family and property. Today's #MitigationMonday tip gives step-by-step instructions to clear around propane tanks. #LiveWildfireReady 📷CSFS/Sathe

Our seedling tree nursery had a special visitor this week! Black bears are often seen in the foothills west of Fort Collins, so it wasn't too surprising to see this guy on the Foothills Campus of @ColoradoStateU. #fatbear #hibernation #fall 📷Orion Aon, CSFS

Self-care looks different for everyone. In the fall we look to forests, fresh air, exercise and dogs to unplug, regroup and take care. 10/10 recommend. #WorldMentalHealthDay 📷K. Long/CSFS
