I would like that today we may together begin to build a culture of reconciliation. We must meet one another, heal our wounds, and forgive the wrongs we did and did not do, but whose effects we still carry. There are no enemies — only brothers and sisters. What we need are gestures and policies of reconciliation.

In the face of hatred and violence, what can we Christians do? First of all, we must pray. It is up to us to turn every tragic news story and image that touches us into a cry of intercession to God. Then, we must help others. But there is more—there is witness, our call to remain faithful to Jesus, who conquered evil by loving from the cross.

This was Pope Francis’s last public appearance. His final gesture of love for the Church was the Urbi et Orbi blessing with which Catholics celebrate the Resurrection on Easter. Let us listen to his words and pray for the eternal repose of our shepherd.

Society is built on an intricate web of relationships, held together by trust. Without trust progress slows, frustration sets in & relationships crumble. And when relationships fail, everything else fails too. Promises made & promises kept form the very fabric of social cohesion!

Jimmy Carter's strong faith was expressed in actions as well as words throughout his life. In an era of global conflict he was a tireless advocate for peace and human rights. We thank God for his humility, determination and service. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Our annual Community Carol Service took place in Coventry's historic Cathedral. 5 local primary schools - @RavensdalePS, @BalsallCommonPS @gfprimarycov , @EarlsdonPrimary and @StAugCPS - joined us in celebrating. Each school performed and gave readings to a packed congregation.

In these deeply divided times, Coventry gives me hope. I can’t imagine how it must’ve felt after an air raid there in 1940 killed over 500 people and destroyed 4,000 homes, as well as the medieval cathedral. Yet today, it is known as a beacon of forgiveness and reconciliation.

A🧵for All Saints. The feasts of All Saints and All Souls are intrinsically linked. I can never think of one without being aware of the other. They speak of a deep seated equality that is at the heart of the gospel.

Join us in prayer, on the 80th anniversary of the D-Day landings. 🙏

ALT A prayer on the 80th anniversary of D-Day God our refuge and strength, as we remember those who faced danger and death in Normandy, eighty years ago, grant us courage to pursue what is right, the will to work with others, and strength to overcome tyranny and oppression, through Jesus Christ, to whom belong dominion and glory, now and for ever. Amen.
