The purpose of this post is to provide a link (see below) for OR division members to sign up for the social night. Please share with your students attending the conference. Spaces are limited, please register as soon as possible! (MG3/5)
This year, the OR division social will be held jointly with the Biological and Medicinal (BM) division. This way we can keep costs down by sharing the space and also provide an opportunity for members to mix. (MG2/5)
From Prof. Michel Gravel:
Hello OR Division Members
CSC 2025 is fast approaching, and we are preparing for another exciting conference and social. (MG1/5)
If you are interested in one of these positions but are unable to attend the AGM, or if you have questions about these positions, please contact the chair of the division:
Michel Gravel
Chair, CSC Organic Division
[email protected]
(MG 5/5)
We strive to have an executive committee that is representative of the overall membership of the division, hence all members are encouraged to submit their nomination at the AGM. (MG 4/5)
There is also one position available on the rotation of executive roles. The elected member would normally act as secretary in Jan-Dec 2026, as treasurer in Jan-Dec 2027, as chair in Jan-Dec 2028, and as past-chair in Jan-Dec 2029. (MG 3/5)
There are two member-at-large positions, each for a 3-year term (January 2026-December 2028). (MG 2/5)
Dear CSC Organic Division Members,
As part of our annual general meeting (AGM) next Wednesday at 12:45pm in room 103 of the Rogers Centre in Ottawa, there will be an election to fill three positions on the executive committee. (MG 1/5)
Corinna will be in Ottawa and happy to discuss. For those with less experience/without a concrete proposal, we can help you develop your idea and/or understand the organizer's role.
Corinna Schindler (UBC) & Jeff Van Humbeck (Calgary)
2026 Organic Division Co-Chairs (JVH 6/6)
If you have a specific idea for a symposium, or if you have even a hint of interest and only a rough idea, please reach out to us at jeffrey.vanhumbec1@ucalgary and [email protected], if possible before the beginning of the 2025 conference (June 15). (JVH 5/6)
We would like to begin generating a preliminary slate of ideas to discuss at the division AGM in Ottawa, as is tradition. Given the time frame – and the opportunity offered by the joint meeting – you only need to have the seed of an idea at this point. (JVH 4/6)
Next year, the conference will be held in tandem with the Canadian Society for Chemical Engineering meeting, which offers the chance to organize unique cross-disciplinary offerings – and is reflected by the theme of the conference, Erasing Boundaries. (JVH 3/6)
This is a call to solicit suggestions for symposia for the 2026 meeting, to be held in Toronto, May 24-28, which comes with a unique opportunity. (JVH 2/6)
A message from Prof. Jeff Van Humbeck (Calgary):
I hope many of you will be travelling to Ottawa shortly for the CSC – and for those who are, I suspect you are looking forward to some of the specific symposia that have been organized by the Organic Division. (JVH 1/6)
