10 years as a CRT Technician
- It's hard to believe that I've been working in CRTs pretty much every day for the last 10 years. I've learned so much, and I feel comfortable in most CRTs. I also realize that this is a profession/skill where I will always be learning new things. It's a challenge, but an exciting one.
i don't like how this glass damage looks like it's going straight to the phosphor layer
like I know it's not because the seller shows an image of the CRT displaying the wii main menu so the vacuum is still intact, but it still looks really weird lmao

The process of RGB modding CRTs has come such long way over the past decade. It used to be something whispered about as a thing of legend, but today it's become a highly supported process from parts to guides and so much more.

Keep one old machine running and you keep a piece of computing history breathing.
Beat all of the round 2 stadium cups (and without using the infinite continue glitch!!)
Hardest was definitely the final round of the challenge cup, but I went through gen 4 battle factory hell before so I was well prepared :)
Spent a lot of time rerolling for a good team though (see the 64 tries lmao), kept getting horrid mons like ember houndoom
Scizor was really good at stopping snorlaxes thankfully, I'm terrified of gen 2 snorlax (and fortunately none knew fire blast or fire punch)

Holy smokes, this multiformat BVM only has 696 hours on it! That's one of the lowest I've ever seen. It's a D9H1U without a PSU or controller built in, so it's no surprise that it sat unused for 20 years. What a great find.
